I love it! There’s only one tiny, itty bitty issue
I love this thread zapper! It works fantastic, and I love that it retracts inward so you don’t run as much risk of snapping the thin coil that heats up. And I love the little space inside where you can put replacement coils. My other ones don’t have that. The ONLY thing I don’t like is that I go through batteries very quickly. But that’s NOT unique to this one zapper. All battery operated zappers seem to have this issue. If I could have this same exact style only with a charger rather than needing batteries, I’d be in jewelry-making heaven.

Used for jewelry making.
Love this thread zapper. I had my other one for many years and probably dropped it one to many times.

Terrible
Got this today, was very excited to use it, threw in some batteries, touched the tip, which got nice and hot real quick, to my s-lon cord and it IMMEDIATELY blew out the filament!! Didn’t even burn through the string. So I put in the replacement tip, used it four times on one bracelet, worked perfect! Beautiful clean burn.Got around to bracelet two and the third burn in the filament blew out AGAIN!!!!In under fifteen minutes I used up BOTH tips. How?How does this have such good ratings?! This is a terrible, awful, waste of space product. How is anyone supposed to get anything done if you have to replace the tips constantly??I, and likely anyone looking at these reviews, would probably be better off just using a lighter. 100% going to return this.0/10, would strongly advise you NOT to waste money on this!!!!

Stopped working
I was only able to use twice. Stored it without batteries for a month or so. Went to use it with me batteries and it didn’t work.

Filament broke on first use
I love the functionality of it, the way the filament is protected while it’s not being used, but on the very first project, as i melted down the cut ends of wildfire thread it made a tiny ‘tink’ sound and no longer would melt them. Upon inspection there is a tiny split in the filament. It’s great a spare is included, didn’t expect to need it quite so soon! Looks like I had best stock up because even with this failure, well, I am hoping its just a fluke and not the norm! Great design, ergonomic, fits smaller hands and little to no strength to work the spring switch.

You won’t regret this purchase!
I have tried other products of this type and always come back to this one. Love that it I can just grab it push a button, sever my thread and put it down without having to worry about the hot tip burning anything else. Others require the extra step of having to remove a cap, and recap and although they may sever the thread nicely they slow down my progress.

Works, when it works!
When they work, they work. However they die/break quickly. One moment the unit works and then the other it just stops working. Sometimes just by changing thr batteries. We have purchased at least 6, and will keep using these until we find a better replacement/solution.

Great tool addition
Way better than a lighter for finishing goods. I melted a nylon purse liner with a lighter and decided to give this a try. Definitely steps up the finish!!!

So easy to use I had an earlier model which still works but the tip falls out from time to time decide to upgrade and so glad I did highly recommend great price and well made

Product isn’t working. I ordered it for my mom and as I don’t live closeby, she had to wait until I visit her. I opened the package to find it isn’t working. Now that the return window is closed, I’m left with half a month of waiting, a bill of ₹1100 and a defective product.
