First take 🙂
One word: wow. Never in my life did I think I would own something called an auto hammer. Own 14 Skil 12v tools (blown away by their performance) and this auto hammer is the neatest and useful me of the bunch. Don’t get me wrong, hammering nails is therapeutic for me. (Seabees love swinging hammers) This little tool, though, brings me the same amount of joy. Skils’ 12v line has numerous nifty tools, such as this. I hope it they keep em comin! Compact, ergonomic, efficient, strong, and impressive.

Great tool you’ll find uses for
This little tool probably won’t get used every day but when you need to drive a nail in a strange place it works great, also great tool for metal working it can turn round steel flat in seconds and bend angles/ round corner with ease as long as the metal isn’t too thick I’ve used it to fix bent feet on countless library carts at work

Great for DIY and small spaces
he Auto Hammer Kit boasts a robust design with a sturdy build. The hammer itself is well-constructed, with a comfortable grip that ensures ease of use during prolonged tasks. The materials used in its construction are high-quality, giving it a solid feel and assuring durability. The performance of the auto hammer is impressive. It delivers consistent hammering force, making it ideal for driving nails into wood, drywall, and other materials with minimal effort. The automatic hammering mechanism saves time and reduces fatigue compared to using a traditional hammer. It’s particularly useful in tight spaces where swinging a regular hammer is impractical. Like an attic, that is where i needed it. However, while the tool works well for most common DIY tasks, it might struggle with larger nails or very hard materials.

Saved me tons of money!
My home insurance went up 2x, so I went with a new company who performed an inspection and, upon doing the inspection, they found that my wind mitigation wasn’t up to standards. If I wanted to shave an extra $1k off my premium, I would have to reinforce my hurricane straps with extra nails. Besides working in the hot attic in an uncomfortable position, this tool made the process quick and easy. The quality of the drill felt good and it was comfortable to use. The battery lasted long enough for me not to recharge it. Even if its for a one time use, it was still cheaper to pay for this than to pay over a thousand for a contractor to do it.

Powerful Hammer!
I bought this hammer for a framing project, and the engineer plans called for 16d nails to attach certain parts into a 2x LVL. After attempting to use a regular hammer to install a couple parts and seeing how strenuous it would be, I looked for alternate tools to get the job done. In total, I had about 120 nails to drive in, and this electric hammer has saved both my wrist and time! We finished in a fraction of the time, and we’re able to use it in tight spots we wouldn’t have been able to reach with a typical hammer. The only cons are 1) the battery: using it in such heavy duty applications, it only lasts about 20 minutes (but understandable considering the conditions it’s being used under!), 2) the noise level: it’s LOUD. Hearing protection is a must for it; the noise level is on par with a jack hammer. And 3) the driving force: although it drove in *most* of the 16d nails, a few would end up stuck after a point, leaving you to drive in the rest of the nail by hand. Again, understandable as I’m using this tool to its upper limits!Other than those, the benefits outweighed the cons for me. I’d highly recommend!UPDATE 7/16/24:Just wanted to add clarification for my video – it’s presenting how well this tool works at its upper limit, a 16d 4.5″ nail driven through two layers of LVL beams. For the record, this thing handles regular, dimensional lumber like BUTTER! It can drive nails into regular 2x4s in under a second! Even found another unexpected use for it: backing nails out of scrap wood (nailing its tip backs it out fairly easily).I still have no compliants after heavily using it with some major home renovations for the past few months. I only wish it had bought it sooner!

What a great tool!
Skil makes a really well made battery operated tools and I have many of them. This auto hammer works like a charm. Practice on a couple of nails first to get the feel for the tool, but then it really works well, especially in tight spaces. It’s one of those things you didn’t know you needed until you do, then you’ll be glad you have it.

Great product.
Really great product. Better than hammering away at a nail.

First I would like to point out that nowhere in this listing did it mention that the charger is 120v and nor did it mention its for USA and Canada markets only! (which is what skill told me when i asked about a 220v charger) i would have probably still bought it though as its a good tool. Luckily i found a 220v step down transformer on eBay that is 200w and considering this only needs 26w its ideal! It only cost me £11 so i cant complain at least i didnt need to buy an expensive transformer. I have mounted the charger and the transformer on a piece of ply wood tied up all the cables so its easy to carry around or hang on the wall.THIS ASSIDE, the tool itself is pretty great ive been using it quite a bit one of the first jobs was fitting talon clips to wiring and also copper pipework under floorboards. the head of this isnt as long as a standard size hammer head which makes it ideal to fit in small spaces which was desperately needed for the job!. I like that you dont even need to hold the nail you just put it in the collet hole apply pressure and press the button. talon clips were easier hold the clip steady then just apply the tool and hammer away made it so much easier than doing it with a manual hammer! i tried it on longer nails too 3 inch nails were no challenge for this tool.i first saw it on a youtube short a mechanic was using it and a project came up where i could use it a lot so i went and bought it and im really pleased with how it performs. ive added a short video of me running a nail in on a talon clip on some copper pipeSo even if you are not in the USA or Canada id still recommend this if you have use for it the transformer as i said was only £11 so it was quite a cheap solution. im sure there are other ways to power the charger as well and it has a 5 year warranty. Although i dont think i could do a warranty claim as it would need to go back to USA but the fact it has a 5 year warranty says the company has a lot of faith in this tool

Muy útil para mí, y llegó rápido.
Somewhere in Canada eh –
Been using to insulate garage using 1 1/4 roofing nails with wide head. They just fit into hole on hammer but they fit. And put in about 400 nails so far all above head and this thing is a arm saver. It is very loud when sinking nail but makes sense. It sinks nails into 2×4 very easily. And no black finger nails from hammer strikes. Daughter used it to put little nails into baseboard in her bedroom. And wife used it to put nails in wall to hang pictures. I have not tried a 4 inch twist spike but I will. I think it is little light for that but for smaller nails I think it’s the cats behind.
