With an older home, miles of copper, and well water that is acidic enough to please your tomatoes and rot all your metal, I have become addicted to sharkbite fittings. Every stupid pinhole leak in the copper from the 1970’s has been patched and eventually converted to Pex. If you have done this and want to salvage your relatively expensive repair fittings you’ll know that the plastic semi rings and even the tong like tools to compress and release the sharkbites are frustrating – it’s just damn hard to compress the fitting, while pulling it off the pipe. So, if you found yourself looking at this tool, we don’t need to belabor the point – it works! You’ll get your fitting released and returned to where-ever you keep them for your next emergency. I only used the half inch fitting attachment but I’d assume the rest work fine as well. It does what it claims in my experience. I’d add that it’s also easy enough to get into tight places, which is a big plus.

Not recommended for 3/4″ couplers.
Frist off. This did work well for the 1/2″ couplers.The issue was with the 3/4″. The jaws weren’t wide enough for the 3/4″ elbows couplers ( Amazon HeSun 10-Pack Pushfit 90 Degree Elbow). Luckly the elbows came with the cheap hand tool. Also, while trying to get the 3/4″ elbow off, the tool bent. Not good. I did see that the tool was supposed to be the improved version, to address these issues. Hence why I bought it. Kinda wonder if I got the old version.

Wow, one of the best tools, ever.
Amazing. The tool paid for itself the first day I used it. Sharkbite fittings are advertised as removable and reusable – there are YouTube videos showing how easy it is using a little plastic tool supplied with some fittings.I’ve never been able to use those little plastic ring tools. But, I saved the old fittings over the years in hopes I’d figure it out.So, my first day with the tool I salvaged a half dozen, easily paying for the tool. Yesterday I used it again to repair some leaking fittings that weren’t seated properly.

Removes pushfit connections with ease. Allows you to remove connections fitted close to the wall.

I had been told by the hardware stores I checked with there was only the little manual orange push things in existence to disconnect quick connect fittings. And most of the time if the fittings have been installed for a while they are impossible to remove with those orange C shaped device. This tool solves the problem.
