Solid mortar rake
This has helped so so so much with my repointing project for my 110 year old home which has fairly soft and delicate brick. This does the job perfectly and scoops out the soft mortar, without destroying my brick. I did about 500sq ft of mortar removal and the bit is only just starting to show its wear.I will be purchasing another for when I do the front of my home

Worked like a champ. Definitely buying another one, also buying the 1/2in as well. The 3/8 or 8mm removes a small amount. So you will need to do 2 passes. I like it for sure

I was skeptical even after reading good reviews but this tool worked just as I wished it would. I am using it to remove mortar in my front porch steps. I am about a third of the way through and I am impressed how good it works. At this point I would buy another one if it wore out but it is still cutting through the mortar after 2 hours of continuous use.

did not work as advertised
Bought this Prodiamant 5/16 x 1″ 3 flute carbide bit to remove 50 year old mortar in a chimney. Made my initial cuts with a 4″ diameter Ripper blade which removed most of the mortar effortlessly. Had planned to use the Prodiamant straight bit for the corners and hard to reach places. The bit failed to cut the mortar and results gave little resemblance to the video shown in the product description. Seems odd to me that this worked for so many reviewers when it was totally ineffective for me. Will try to return it even though it is “used”. BTW, the BRSchnitt diamond coated bit worked great for the same task.

Chews through old mortar like router bit on steroids!
Used this on the verticals doing the chimney and it ripped right through the old mortar. If I had to do it again I’d get one with a barbed tip also to be able to plunge in but even without it, it got the job done.
