I found this book to be very helpful! Just dug up an old photo that never turned out and I hadn’t had the chance to edit yet. I used various instructions from the book to make a few fixes to the photo! Fun to play around with. I’m obviously still and can only get better with all the help from this book! Before and after included!

It was really helpful learning the basics and taught me some really neat tricks that went into some personal projects. By no means does it teach you everything but it is a great jumping off point for any beginner.

VERY BASIC
This book has some useful information. The most useful information I found was in saving files.The book goes through the basic functions of photoshop for a beginner and where to locate them. It will not show you in practical terms by example how to utilize the tools for editing your work. For that I recommend youtube or searching google. VERY BASIC for beginner or novice. Some helpful examples would be useful. Not a lot of thought put into the writing of the book in this regard. Sorry but not worth the money spent. The title is misleading … THE Ultimate Guide to Mastering Photoshop???? I think NOT. Sorry … very basic.

Not worth reading and lacks substance
This book presents a very quick run through the basic tools of Photoshop, along with typographical errors and print mistakes such as text fading to nothing on the side of the page. It does not provide any insight into the use of each tool (insight is not the same as in depth – obviously, the intent was not to go in depth, but the omission of insight makes the run through tools less than exploring on your own). There are presumptuous statements about the reader that are way off base such as those on page __ and __ (see statement at the end of this review). The book appears to have been thrown together quickly to make a buck. The lack of editing and proofreading the printed copy makes this apparent. Errors can be found on pages ___, wait a minute, there are no page numbers!

This book is a great place to start learning photoshop basics. I bought the kindle version and really enjoyed it.I rated a 4 because there are some spelling/ grammar errors. Also the shortcuts image was cut off. I found an image online to help. This book would also benefit from more images.

It’s good and it’s cheap I would love to say recommended but I can’t I would say spend your money on a more expensive book as this is a very short book and it’s very basic
