Line up a ruler with a metal edge where you want your perforation at and hold the tool with the handle straight up and down and run it across the side of the ruler. Works perfectly every time! The paper folds crisp the first time and tears flawlessly. What a great value for such a great tool! I highly recommend this one.

This little thing’s awesome. Probably not what you want if you’re trying to make straight finished edges.. like then just buy an actual paper cutter, but if you want perforation that users can tear out, this little tool does the work of any giant machine just as well as it can. I got this to do tear out response cards for direct Mail (in 2025 I know right LOL) but anyway, for small batch prototyping or even a full production run in a real pinch, you can’t beat this thing. Super fast super sharp super easy to use. I had to give it five stars even though I was in the middle of something else, I just couldn’t believe how impressed I was with something that cost $8. I haven’t been this happy about a purchase since I found glue dots. Whenever you buy something off Amazon it’s kind of Hit or Miss whether it’ll actually work for what you want it to work for, my shelf is filled with paper that was kind of all right but not really great.. so when you order something and it’s actually really great it’s well.. really great 🙂 sorry, I get paid to write copy, I don’t get paid to write copy on Amazon LOL

Works very well in making cards with a perforated bookmark with it. Very easy to use, I suggest using a ruler to help with a straight line.

Awesome tool! Love it!
I saw someone on YouTube use this for foundation paper piecing in quilting. I decided to try it because normally I would use a piece of cardboard to fold all the lines straight. This works like magic without much pressure and yet doesn’t separate when I sew over the line. If you’re a quilter who does Foundation Paper Piecing, I would definitely recommend this tool. It makes things a whole lot easier.

I don’t know how I managed without a Olfa Perforating Cutter before now. The cutter is about the length of a pencil and the width of a soup spoon, with small cutting blades separated around the wheel and shielded with a sliding cover. When you pull back the cover, you then just roll it along the line to be perforated. Quick and easy to use. The tool is well made and sturdy, and I have found I can use it to cut three or four sheets of copy paper at the same time. Great value for money for my needs and I’ve used it more and more over time.
