Quality little scanner! It’s a base model that will suit the needs of most users. It’s easy to use and was accurate. The directions were a little vague but I believe most people can understand them. It’s super easy to use and is very user friendly. The cons: The unit doesn’t read srs or abs systems, but those are options found on uogrwde models. The only real negative that we discovered was a slight delay in button press/screen responsiveness and the cord could have been a foot longer. lol. When using the item, there is a slight delay from when you push the button to when the unit responds. Which can cause you to pass your selected icon, or scroll through the errror codes . Take it slow and easy and you will be fine. This is a great option for those who want to familiarize themselves with their car and issues. Or if you want to get an idea of what’s going on before the mechanic has even had a chance to get it in. I had three codes. All three codes I knew were there, and this scanner read them correctly and the suggested repair items were spot on! And it’s the same unit the auto parts store uses as well.

I bought this for a check engine light that came on in my 2013 Jeep Patriot. The car was running fine but I wanted to know what the issue might be. I figured for 15 bucks, what the heck my time is worth that. Instead of waiting at an auto parts store that would do it for free, I can now check and erase engine related codes at my convenience. The scanner plugged in fine and booted up fast. It shot me a P0456 code, which had an on board explanation of Evaporative Emission Leak (very small leak). I did a little research online and there were a ton of bad gas cap reasons for this code. Sure enough, I checked my gas cap and the spring lock mechanism was spinning preventing a good seal. I cleared the code, got a 5 dollar gas cap, and everything was fine. I ran through a bunch of the other features on the scanner and it was responsive and gave a lot of information during the real time scan. It has a nice big easy to read screen and the cord was sufficient length. All in all, a great deal for the money.
