Love my awesome ignition problem solver. The reader told me that my throttle body was stuck in open setting. I bought a $10.00 spray can of throttle body cleaner, moved the air breather out of the way to spray cleaner and wipe black soot from around butterfly mechanism. Problem solved and my Ford SUV is running dependable again. Three mechanics said to bring my Ford back in two weeks for them to start looking on why the motor would drop down as if running on one cylinder. I would wait 2 minutes and then all would be running normalMy kids said it could be haunted!!!

Very Basic Unit that works surprisingly well
This is a basic unit but you actually get a lot for the low price tag. For the car owner this unit is fantastic. It will let you know the codes so you can figure if this is a major or minor issue. With the internet you often can figure it out what needs fixed by knowing the codes, but if not it certainly helps you when you stop by your mechanic shop.The thing I like most about this unit is that you can send yourself the data. The print function is fantastic. It gives you a code that you scan with your phone and you get the report. Makes it easier than trying to write down the codes while you are on your knees under the dashboard!The other item I like is that it comes with a long chord so you can get a little more comfortable after plugging it in to read the codes.CONCLUSION:For the price point this is an excellent product for the car owner to have on hand. It is easy to use, has a bright screen and has the print function to help you remember the codes.RATING SYSTEM:I review a lot of products because I know reading other peoples reviews are very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale and I thought, “that is useful”. When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important.Here is my rating scale:5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone.4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well.3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great.2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don’t count on it.1 Star: Trash. I can’t see any useful purpose for the product.

Easy to use, great to have on hand
I do not pretend to know a lot about cars, but this is my experience with this scan tool. I have a couple older cars, one of them is a 2003 that I recently had the motor rebuilt in. After the rebuild was finished I went to have the car emission tested and the test was unable to be performed because the engine was not “test ready”. Changing the battery and rebuilding the engine of course wiped out all of the data, so the test could not tell if the car has been emitting pollutants or not. I did not know this at the time.I got this OBD2 scanner to monitor my progress as I did repeated “drive cycles” with the car. Once this scanner showed all of the systems were ready, I took the car to be tested and woohoo, it passed. Without this scanner I would not have been able to tell if my car was test ready or not.I also have a 2004 that acts up from time to time and from now on, when it does misbehave, this tool will help me find out what is wrong. It’s easy to use, just plug it in, turn the key to accessory and the tool will ready in car’s info. I’ll be sure to check my ’04 with this tool well before emissions testing time so I’ll be able to fix any issues before wasting time going to the emissions station.I can’t say I know all the ins and outs of what this scanner does, I know it generates a QR code so you can print out or save the information, which is a cool feature! Even with my limited automotive knowledge, I find this tool helpful, and I am very pleased with it!
