A bit expensive, but will pay itself off in no time.
The unit has an intuitive interface and it works perfectly! I have a 2014 Porche Cayman S and I decided to start doing my own oil changes instead of paying over $300 for something that will now cost me about $70. They totally price gouge at the dealership, ESPECIALLY with their labor costs. I changed the oil and finally reset those annoying maintenance reminders. Life is good again!

Updates readily Available
Bought this to check an engine fault and reset the oil service light on my 09 997.2.Unit came with Version 35.50, which would not allow me to complete the oil reset. There are plenty of videos on how to perform an update via a PC, which of course i did not have. I reached out to Icarsoft, and they linked me to an app for my MAC that worked and allowed me to complete the update.It was pretty self explanatory, the unit turns on with all required information when plugged, except when it asked you to authorize where you wanted the download to go. I had to select the unit itself in the “Finder” bar, and not any particular file.Once the update was complete (mine updated to 34.50) oil reset worked great.People at icarsoft were very prompt about returning my emails and helping me out. The unit is pretty intuitive and easy to use.

Oil Reset does not work with 997.1
Product description claims that Oil Reset works for 997, however the device claims that Oil Reset is not supported when connected to my ’05 997.

Great scanner!
I bought it just for the oil reset on my Porsche Macan 17 because I do all the work on my cars and wanted a good scanner to get the job done. Very easy to use, easy to reset any code you might have I also used it to reset one of my brake light sensors. Great scanner!

Bought it and honestly although it can work as described, it is very hard to navigate with the old school super heavy push buttons of the 90s

Some good functions. It only supported 3 years of Boxsters, and would not reset my oil change light. It’s going back.
