Saved Me Hundreds of Dollars
This is a great scanner for detailed analysis of make-specific (e.g. Jeep) system modules. Cars today are complex, with distributed electronic modules that can’t be analyzed with a simple ODB-II/III scanner. You need specialized software specific to your cars make and model. This ODB-II all system scanner from CGSULIT comes with software specific to your car. I purchased mine with “Chrysler” software, which covers Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge, and it can be upgraded for other makes. I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, which was displaying system errors for the air suspension and terrain control systems. I was not looking forward to the expense of taking my car to a dealer for repair, as they charge $220 an hour for repairs, plus diagnostic fees and a premium for parts.In the past I have searched for scanners with make specific software, and they have all been very expensive and appear to be difficult to use. Searching again, I found the CGSULIT ODB2 scanner on Amazon, for a reasonable price, and after reviewing the product web page it looked like it was easy to use and that it would be able to diagnose the problem with my Jeep.This device is amazing. It was simple to use and scanned 24 modules in my Grand Cherokee. It also has bi-directional control, so you can not only scan, read and clear codes, but also control many of the cars various modules. I was able to control the air suspension system, testing each wheel and other functions. The good news was that the air suspension checked out okay. There were also several modules that showed CAN Bus faults related to the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM). I checked out the wiring from the TCCM to the CAN Bus, and it was okay, so that left only the TCCM as the likely faulty device. I was able to purchase one from an online Mopar distributor for $374 rather than $585 quoted by the two local dealers, saving me $200+. I also saved another $200 – $500 dollars (or more) in dealer labor by doing this myself. Not only did this scanner save me hundreds of dollars, but now I have the scan tool for the next time anything goes wrong. My next step is to upgrade the unit for my Infiniti G35.The pictures below show the drill down through the air suspension module. Note that it did download the VIN, but I blanked it out. (The aggregated picture shows the correct order of the screens. The individual screens show added detail).

Give Mopar the Middle Finger
I primarily bought this item because it touted that it could force the regeneration of the diesel particulate filter on my Dodge Ram ecodiesel. Not only can you request for it to regenerate then get on the highway and it will do it, in my case my truck was at the “Filter at 90% full, then the next mssg was “take to dealer” and the truck was in limp mode and couldnt go faster than 20 mph, so driving at hwy speeds was out of the question but with this tool I was able to clear the codes. Trick the computer into thinking the filter has been replaced then chose the regenerate at idle thus I parked the truck and the rpm ramped up to 2500 for about 15 min and my truck s filter was clean! And I didnt have to stop my schedule and drive on the hwy out of town which was what I had been doing before bc , God forbid, you dont handle it right when the “dpf 90 full” pops up and then your truck goes into limp mode and then refers you to the dealer service dept who says to replace the dpf for $3000. I think I paid about $120 for this Chrysler specific tool, I would have paid 4x that for what I have affectionately named “ My Mopar Middle Finger”

Works great. A lot of capabilities.
This scanner works great and has a lot of capabilities. I was previously using a scanner that could only read trouble codes. This scanner allows you to do more than just read codes. You can run more in-depth scans that analyze various components of the vehicle. The scanner let me know I have an issue with my truck’s body control module. This issue would not show up on my other scanner and I was having issues with diagnosing the problem. You can buy it with software for a particular make of vehicle and can acquire software for additional makes of vehicles, which further increases its capabilities.

This Unit Is Worth The Difference
I was tired of buying the cheap readers that basically did little if nothing to give the user actually usable information. So I decided to spend much more and get one that I felt was more professional. This unit did the job-plain and simple. It was easy to use, and gave me the code and readout of what the issue was on my Jeep. I did not have to go looking on the web for what the code meant. So arming myself with this information I was able to discuss the issue ahead of time with my Jeep service advisor. And it was dead accurate. I would highly recommend this unit and be sure to know which make you are buying it for, because when you do, you will get great information back pertaining to your make. In my opinion, this unit paid for itself the first time I used it. Customer service is wonderful as well. Good product, good company behind it.

Had my van back up and running in less than 20 minutes
Bought the scanner for my 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. I had a permanent engine code for the transmission van went into limp mode stuck in second gear. I use special functions to reset the transmission error counter cleared the check engine light that was 15,000 miles ago. The vans are running great.

SC530 does not communicated anymore!
I just try the unit today on my Dodge Grand Caravan 2013 and it does not seem to communicate via OBDII port (SC530). I tried to upload the update software on my computer and the USB-C port on the unit does not communicate either. Everything was fine 2 months ago. I was able by then to update the unit on my PC and to read parameters on my Promaster 2022. I am waiting for an answer from CGSULIT. Very disapointed.Good news everything is now working fine ( one of the issues was on me ). I got a great support from the CGSULIT team. Their help was very helpful and easy to understand. The written instructions and pictures sent were easy to follow. They even sent me more messages to make sure everything was fine. A great follow up to make sure the supplied solutions were to my satisfaction.Thanks again.
