This extension is an excellent product. It is made from nicely machined stainless steel. It is well-balanced and shows no sign of vibration at 10,000 RPMs. It fit my 4 1/2″ angle grinder perfectly. It has extra-long threads, so it can also accept more attachments than the standard threads of an angle grinder, such as buffing wheels, etc. I like that it has a good plastic case and a 17 MM wrench for tightening and loosening the extension. I liked everything; however, there is a minor issue.I do have a couple of grinding wheels with integrated locknuts/flange nuts that I was unable to screw on. It may have been machined using metric thread spacing, or the threads could be thicker than the grooves. Its machining is quite good and likely done within several thousandths of an inch. Some brands’ nut grooves may be machined with less tolerance. The norm, however, is to machine tool threads with a bit of play to consider variances in thread grove width or dust and dirt getting into the threads. If the machining tolerance is too tight, things such as metal dust from grinding could prevent the nut from mounting the arbor; this would require the threads to be brushed clean constantly. Another possibility is that because the threads are flat-faced and not V-shaped, they don’t fit in the nut’s grooves properly; flat-faced threads are preferred for tools like this; they are stronger, less likely to be cross-threaded, and more damage-resistant. The pictures show, in order, a diamond cutting blade mounted with a Dewalt flange and flange nut, a knotted wire wheel mounted with an integrated flange and nut or threaded flange, and the last two show a metal cutting Diablo metal grinding disk that only just went on far enough to stay put, but not use.The thread issue was not enough to deter me from rating this five stars. This product is offered at a reasonable price, and I highly recommend it.
