   It was a present to my son who had a car scanner that was over 20 years old. He loves it! With newer technology, it does so much more than his old one. With the AI, it helps him understand how to use and read it, with the possible causes and what to try. You can also choose what you want to download and update.

   Great Advanced Scanner, but…
   Right off the top, its great. However it does have an issue that may be a dealbreaker for some. The unit has decent capabilities to many cars and aside from the odd menu structure, its fairly intuitive. It has a solid list of features and the price is reasonable for the abilities. HOWEVER, the key programmer appears to be very limited. My car was “Supported” but there are very obvious problems. For me, the scanner asked for PIN to program the new key and let me know that it would allow “2 or 3 attempts before locking it out”. Yes… it literally said “2 or 3” tries. That should have given me pause, in and of itself. But since I didn’t have the spare fob with me, I just canceled the process and went to grab the key. When I tried a again, it told me it was locked out. Yeah… lock out before I even put a PIN in once. I waited for a few days and tried again and it let me enter the PIN and then began the programming of the key, but it asked me to take the key out of the car and put in the master key. However doing that required turning off the car and removing the spare. In doing so, it failed. Upon going back in, it again stated the PIN was locked out. However, this time it didn’t unlock and free up on its own. It is still locked out to this day.

   This Scanner bricked my vehicle
   Good basic code reader but the reason I am giving one star is this: I ran a Transponder Code Erasure special function on a 2004 Toyota 4Runner immobilizer, the scanner initiated the procedure deleted all keys then lost connection and bricked the vehicle when I contacted support they took a week to tell me the function was not supported by the scanner or the vehicle. It cost me $100 to have a local tech rerun the function with a XTOOL scanner and “unbrick” my vehicle. The one star is because support is not helpful dismissive and the functions are still advertised for this vehicle which tells me I cant trust an of the special functions listed for this scanner which is why it stands apart from a basic scanner so 1 star I recommend looking else where for a scanner. The value you get with this scanner is misrepresented.

   I am giving this tool a 5 star review based on the price and what it is capable of doing. I set my expectations low when purchasing this scan tool. My primary interest was how they were incorporating AI. I own and operate a very busy 7 bay automotive shop. We have multiple full function scan tools all with current software. I should note that they range from aftermarket to factory diagnostics for domestic manufactures on the laptop. Basically, it was purchased as a parking scan tool. Let’s get to the brass tacks. The user interface is the same as the typical Launch, Autel and knock off companies. The unit is compact and actually very easy to read for a smaller display screen. The baud rate is pretty good and on par with big name tools. The internal antenna for wifi i feel could be a bit stronger comparing it to Snap On and the other mentioned scan tools. Not a deal breaker because using a cell phone for a hot spot is pretty normal. Especially when working on vehicles that require gateway access. This unit responds well to that. The bidirectional controls are the same as the Launch/ Autel platform. We have used them and so far, they function properly. Battery life is ok. We it put on the c charger every two days over night. The unit stays powered on with the screen asleep at all times. Some people report the software coverage is limited to 10 years previous. We have used it a few times spanning back to at least 2008 with no issues on Nissan and General Motors. It works very fast on Hyundai/ Kia. I have yet to try and add it to my FCA account for secure gateway vehicles as my bigger scan tools are currently on so I cannot report positive or negative results for that. My technicians that are using it seem to really like it. The young techs used to the UI seem to be very comfortable with it. Older techs that have become more familiar with Ui of the L/A platform are the same. They claim that it’s easier to operate. There is absolutely no substantial evidence to support that. Yet I can say I feel the same. Free software updates I really should have mentioned that earlier, However I let that out for a reason. I am not affiliated in any form or fashion with this company or anyone involved. This is just an honest review. I have zero regrets of this purchase and I was quite surprised. As far as the AI. With a strong internet connection, It takes a small amount of time and loads diagnostic information that is rather extensive directly to the tool. We use this information with a grain of salt as we are professionals and use the resources we are accustomed to using. I can report everything I have tested that function for has been correct. And it gives you a lot of resources without logging in to other sites. For the person that may not have those resources this is where you should pay attention. I have been in this industry for 34 years now. Let’s just say a lot of things have changed. Evolution is the key.

   Questo articolo della MUCAR modello 892BT si è dimostrato un prodotto ottimo sia sotto il profilo di gestione del software sia per qualità dei materiali utilizzati nella sua costruzione.Si tratta di uno strumento di diagnostica professionale per auto compatibile praticamente con tutti i veicoli immatricolati dopo l’anno 1996 e in alcuni casi anche con modelli antecedenti.Il set è molto ben fornito con tutti gli accessori riposti in maniera perfetta in una pratica valigetta con chiusura a zip e maniglia.I componenti principali di questo set diagnostico sono un tablet e da una specie di chiavetta ad esso collegata tramite bluetooth che in effetti è lo scanner da collegare alla porta diagnostica dell’auto.Il tablet essendo uno strumento professionale da lavoro appare con una struttura esterna rinforzata che da una sensazione di grande solidità e robustezza. E’ dotato di un ampio schermo touchscreen da 8 pollici con una risoluzione di 1280×800 pixel.All’accensione risulta sempre molto chiaro e leggibile anche in presenza di una forte luminosità esterna. L’alimentazione è a batterie interne a litio ricaricabili che forniscono una grande autonomia di lavoro. Il processore interno è un quadcore con 4 GB di ram e 64 Gb di memoria. E’ dotato di sistema operativo android 10 con aggiornamenti gratuiti a vita.Grazie a questo dispositivo professionale non solo potremo monitorare tutti i dati dell’auto facendolo sia a veicolo fermo che i movimento. Ma andremo a rilevare anche tutti gli errori di sistema che si generano nella centralina dell’auto dovuti a guasti o errori di sistema o a parti meccaniche usurate. Potremo anche andare a modificare alcune impostazioni del veicolo come ad esempio la guida assistita, rilevamento carreggiata, o rilevamento stanchezza conducente etc. etc. I protocolli supportati sono tanti tra i quali: SAE J1850 PWM e VPW, ISO 9141-2 ISO, ISO 14230-4 KWP, ISO 15765-4 CAN, CANFD e DoIP. Ovviamente l’utilizzo di questo sistema di diagnostica è destinato agli operatori del settore specializzato e per officine meccaniche ed elettroniche.Le funzioni che ha questo dispositivo sono 11 tra cui:- autosearch con la quale si identifica la marca, il modello e l’anno dell’auto;- diagnosi completa del veicolo(questa funzione richiede una conoscenza approfondita delle informazioni del veicolo);- OBD ossia supporta i protocolli OBD II e EOBD sui veicoli immatricolati dopo 1996;- report funzione con la quale si registrano e salvano i dati diagnostici ed immagini del veicolo per analisi future;- feedback funzione con la quale se si riscontra un problema irrisolto o un bug del sistema diagnostico si richiede assistenza ad un team di esperti preposto.Insomma un prodotto davvero molto completo sotto tutti i punti di vista costruito con materiali di alta qualità e utilizzando una tecnologia al passo con i tempi. Questo agevola il lavoro dei professionisti nella riparazione degli autoveicoli in maniera efficace e tempestiva e soprattutto ad individuare gli errori segnalati.Il costo al momento della recensione non è disponibile, ma in rete lo si può acquistare tra i 520 e i 600 euro che in linea con prodotti professionali e completi simili a questo.Concludendo posso soltanto consigliarne l’acquisto non solo ai professionisti nel settore, ma anche a tutti gli appassionati che vogliono avere il pieno controllo sul proprio veicolo.Spero di essere stato utile nell’esporre tutte le caratteristiche di questo prodotto che mi è stato proposto tramite il programma Vine di Amazon, in cui cerco di dare sempre valutazioni oggettive ed obiettive dei prodotti offerti e testati.    I’ve used a basic OBD reader before, just a little unit that bluetooths to an app on my phone. However, I wanted something a little more functional, so I got this unit. I was quite impressed on opening this, it comes with several accessories and cables, and the tablet is clearly a rugged little unit. I like that the plug-in unit attaches to the tablet back magnetically; a small but convenient feature. I read the manual, but like much electronic gear these days, it’s just a quick-start guide, most of the detailed instructions are in the unit itself as tutorials. There are multiple update options for the app, vehicle diagnostics, etc. I went through and updated everything, but for vehicle software I went through and de-selected any brands that weren’t North American (I had no idea how many vehicle brands there are out there!) to speed things up, which it did. However, the next time I powered it up, it prompted me that there were updates available. When I hit “update all” it downloaded and installed all the brands that I had previously de-selected. It only took a few minutes, so I suggest just doing that on initial setup to save a bit of wasted time when you go to use it for real. The unit was fairly intuitive to navigate and there’s a LOT going on, from airbag to odometer, there’s a selection in there for everybody! It does prompt you with a warning before it lets you do anything catastrophic. I’ve been wanting to turn off the passenger side seatbelt warning forever. I rarely have someone sit there and when I do, it’s always an adult, but more often I put a backpack or something on the seat, triggering the warning. While I found the tablet easy to use and navigate, I couldn’t find the setting to turn off that chime; I’ll have to do a little more research before I start messing with things! One setting I did find that I have no desire to turn off, but many I know do, Is the auto stop/start for the engine. The unit also prompts you to remove the plug-in unit every time, that’s going to save me at least once or twice from leaving it plugged in, I know that! The only thing I did find a little frustrating is that the screen doesn’t seem to wake on touching, once the screen sleeps you have to short-press the power button to wake it. However, as complaints go, that’s relatively minor. This tool probably has far more functionality than I’ll ever use, so for my purposes, it’s a great machine and I’d recommend it, based on my experiences with it.

Questa configurazione assicura un’avvio rapido, un’interfaccia fluida e la possibilità di archiviare ampie librerie di dati e applicazioni diagnostiche senza rallentamenti.L’aspetto diagnostico è il vero fulcro: lo strumento copre oltre 140 marche e oltre 10.000 modelli, con diagnosi bi‑direzionale a livello di ECU e funzioni di active testing. Dal controllo del motore (ECM) ai sistemi di sicurezza (SRS), dal TPMS al BMS, passando per TCM, SAS, EPB e BCM, non c’è quasi car‑system che sfugga alla scansione e all’analisi dettagliata.Tra le funzioni “one‑click” più utili emergono oltre 34 servizi specializzati: reset olio e lampadina, adattamenti frizione (GEAR), calibrazione sterzo (SAS), ripristino freni e manutenzione batteria (BMS). In officina ho apprezzato la capacità di resettare immediatamente il service light dopo un tagliando, risparmiando tempo prezioso durante l’intervento sul veicolo.Un altro punto di forza è l’ECU coding avanzato: la possibilità di riprogrammare moduli OEM apre la strada a personalizzazioni fino a oggi appannaggio degli strumenti di diagnosi ufficiali. Si possono abilitare funzioni nascoste, regolare parametri di comfort e persino ottimizzare la risposta del motore senza dover ricorrere all’elettronica di bordo del costruttore.Non mancano però alcune limitazioni. L’interfaccia, seppur reattiva, risente di una grafica non sempre intuitiva: impostare per la prima volta alcuni test bi‑direzionali richiede un breve periodo di “familiarizzazione” con i menu. Inoltre, la batteria interna non è progettata per un’autonomia prolungata lontano dalla presa (consiglio di collegarlo al veicolo o a una fonte esterna quando si prevedono lunghe sessioni di diagnosi).Il design robusto lascia intendere un uso professionale, ma il peso del dispositivo – non indifferente – può risultare ingombrante se si deve trasportare frequentemente in borsa o zaino. Infine, sebbene Android 10 garantisca compatibilità con molte app, qualche utility avanzata di terze parti può richiedere una licenza aggiuntiva o non essere pienamente ottimizzata per lo schermo da 8 pollici.In sintesi, il MUCAR 892BT si distingue per velocità, completezza di diagnosi e funzioni avanzate di codifica ECU: ideale per chi vuole un unico strumento capace di gestire vetture di marca diversa con prestazioni professionali.     The product does what it can do for the cars it can do it for legally. The AI was useful in guiding my spouse through some solutions — I had to noob test it. My spouse enjoyed the report I was able to print out with it. There’s a lot of connectors for different vehicles so if a family member gets a CEL, or experiences trouble that produces codes that don’t trip the check rngine light I can at least print out a rrport that can guide them to a solution, or at least let them know how to describe it to a mechanic to avoid expliratory repairs.My only complaint is not the fault of this device, but auto manufacturers that want you to spend thousands on your car and not be able to affordabily repair your car. If you’re unfortunate like me to have bought a stelatlantis/FCA/GM car (most far from basic models) from 2009 onwards you’re going to be frustrated by having to put in a code to be able to peform any function worth doing past reading codes. Setting the headlight bulb type to a compatible type requires it. Programming new keys requires it. It basically forces you to go to a dealer and pay almost half the subscription price. There are affordable ways to get the code rather than going throught the preffered method, but currently that’s not much cheaper that paying a locksmith, or convincing a mechanic to do it on his break for cash.That rant over. I actually do recommend this device for anyone who buys old beaters, and wants to have a fair chance at repairing as much as they can on their own. I know it’s a bit of a sticker shock, but I tried to replicate it with an old tablet and a mid range bluetooth OBD2… and it’s a lot of bother with plenty of copy and paste.

    This MuCar is clearly aimed at committed DIY mechanics or small one-person workshops. The hardware feels quick and capable, with advanced diagnostics and some ECU coding, though not everything is fully unlocked.The build quality is good and well finished, even if it’s a bit less rugged than premium models. The wireless OBD dongle connects fast and sticks magnetically to the back, which I ended up appreciating more than expected. Battery drain in standby is noticeable, so I make a habit of charging it regularly.The hard case is well thought out and includes useful accessories like an OBD extension cable with network support, multiple charging options, and quality cables. Setup was straightforward, and the interface is clean and intuitive.Scanning is thorough, with automatic VIN recognition, and reports are saved automatically and easy to share. Lifetime updates are a strong plus and add real long-term value.The MUAI assistant is an interesting idea, but in my experience it’s still hit-or-miss and feels more like a beta feature.Overall, this scanner offers more capability than I expected for the price. Some features are clearly limited on purpose, but for serious users, it’s a modern, capable tool that does what it promises.
