I bought this smoke leak detector after struggling with an EVAP leak on my car for way too long. I was honestly unsure if a machine at this price would deliver, but it surprised me. The setup was simple. I added the oil, connected the clamps, and it started producing smoke in seconds.What I liked the most is how consistent the smoke output is. Works good but does not come with smoke liquid!
The machine works good but does not come with the liquid for the smoke. I went to Walmart and bought paraffin liquid to use. The bottle it shoes is empty.

What an awesome tool, my son used it on his truck; the results showed an entirely different area and not his exhaust manifold as he was suspecting. Saved him over $100 dollars and hours of labor.The photos below show a leaking fuel tank for the generator, buried beneath the housing. I repaired it with a plastic welder, then smoked it again to confirm the leak was fixed.

This works “okay” as an evap leak tester. In the past I have used far more expensive machines with far better smoke production, however this gets five stars because it works nearly as well but for a fraction of the price.Sometimes gets liquid into the smoke line, so be careful when testing anything with rubber seals.It produces a large amount of smoke which is nice but make sure to run the ‘air only’ function for a while after turning off the smoke to cool down the burner and help reduce liquid in the smoke line.I have noticed the oil left in the reservoir is slightly burnt looking after a few uses but doesn’t appear to have any negative effect.It comes with an excellent variety of adapters.
