Pays for Itself after One Time Use
Recently bought another Lexus vehicle and I wanted to deactivate the auto tilt away for the steering column. Constant tilting just wears the motors out causing an expensive repair to be needed. Toyota Tech Stream software is used to do this. A dealer or Toyota specialist will do it for anywhere from $100-300. You can get bootleg software and risk infecting your computer or damaging the car. This device allows for doing this programming at home all DIY. The device paid for itself after one use. You can also program many other things such as DRLs, auto locking, light intensity, and even add keys to your car. This is completely worth the reasonable cost.

Sophisticated and comprehensive diagnostic and test tool thats easy to use.
This is a sophisticated diagnostic tool for any vehicle with an OBD2 diagnostic port. It’s a nicely sized and highly portable touch screen device. To start, fully charge it then, configure it to run on your local wifi to make sure the software is up to date, download configurations other than Toyota/Lexus (it comes pre-configured for those) and send complete diagnostic reports. Then simply connect it to your vehicles OBD port and you are ready to go.I tested this with a Lexus and Volvo (I paid for and downloaded the Volvo profile right from the device) and I compared it with another OBD reader that I have. The results were identical so I trust that this device works correctly. I could make this a very long review, so here is a summary of some (not all) to the things this can do.- Run complete diagnostics and provide all error codes and brief description (if found). Each error has a link directly to the internet to provide further information)..- Produce a complete diagnostic report that can be Emailed to anyone for printing or providing to a mechanic. (note the report does not contain clickable links to the internet, you will have to search each one yourself separately).- Reset all error codes and notifications such as oil change alerts etc.- Run functional test on many systems (turn individual headlights on and off, activate leveling systems, and more — vehicle dependent).- Run more sophisticated tests (steering centering, ABS, and more — vehicle dependent) and reset some systems.- It can graph certain parameters real time while the vehicle is running which could provide important insight into applicable vehicle performance parameters and issues. There are more things that this can do and honestly, I’m not a mechanic and don’t understand them all but after using this device for a while, I find it hard to believe that there is anything you would want it to do that it doesn’t do. Even if you just use it as a diagnostic tool before bringing to a mechanic or a double check of what your mechanic tells you, it’s well worth the cost and will give you peace of mind.A word of caution. Because this tool can clear error codes, reset warnings and some vehicle systems and run various tests and diagnostics (vehicle specific) you should be certain you understand what are the possible results and issues you might encounter or create by doing so. As I said before, this is a very capable device and its possible you could put some system into a configuration that you don’t want or start a test without the requisite additional test equipment (if applicable) so think carefully before using this device in any other manner than reading diagnostics. If you want to test this scanner before downloading profiles for your vehicle it comes with a DEMO profile built in so you can try out all the functions (as a simulation) before committing. In summary, I am really pleased with this scanner and learned a lot about both my vehicles. This is an invaluable tool no matter what your level of technical understanding and you should seriously consider getting this.

Good, but a little pricey
It’s a solid, efficient, and feature-rich reader, but it may be overkill for most users. Determine if you need all these features before you buy; chances are good a simpler, cheaper scanner will get the job done just as well. That said, this same brand has

Good scanner.
The whole system coverage really amazed me when I tested it on a Lexus. The scanner can effortlessly read real-time data from a variety of systems, such as A/C, ABS, and transmission. This gadget offers all the real-time data you would anticipate from a much more expensive scanner, whether you are monitoring A/C refrigerant pressure for system health and recharging or checking ATF temperature to regulate the fluid level. Its array of reset features and bidirectional controls is likewise exceptional. The list of service functions that are available, like gearbox adaption and ABS bleeding, is often reserved for more costly expert instruments. This scanner provides great value for the money if you are searching for a cutting-edge model specifically for Toyota and Lexus. However, scanning speed is the primary disadvantage. Navigating to a particular module or finishing a thorough system scan takes some time. Once you are in, though, it is responsive and quick to read real-time data or carry out particular actions. That trade-off seems fair given the price. If it means saving a lot of money on the tool itself, I, as a do-it-yourselfer, do not mind waiting a little while longer. It will require some patience as it goes through its procedures, but once it starts, it is accurate and dependable. It is evident that this is an offshore apparatus. At first, some of the menu phrasing and symbols are a touch confusing, but nothing that you can not figure out with a few minutes of exploring. Overall, this scanner performs admirably, particularly. When I tested the entire system coverage on a Lexus, I was quite astounded. Real-time data from a number of systems, including transmission, ABS, and air conditioning, can be easily read by the scanner. Whether you are checking ATF temperature to control the fluid level or monitoring A/C refrigerant pressure for system health and recharging, this device provides all the real-time data you would expect from a much more costly scanner. Its bidirectional controls and variety of reset features are also outstanding. The number of accessible service functions, such as ABS bleeding and gearbox adaptation, is frequently limited to more expensive specialist instruments. If you are looking for a state-of-the-art model exclusively for Toyota and Lexus, this scanner offers excellent value for the money. However, the main drawback is scanning speed. It takes time to get to a specific module or complete a comprehensive system scan. However, once you are in, it is responsive and fast to do certain activities or read real-time data. Considering the cost, that trade-off seems reasonable. As a do-it-yourselfer, I do not mind waiting a little while longer if it means saving a lot of money on the tool itself. It will take some time to complete its processes, but once it does, it is reliable and accurate. The fact that this is an offshore device is clear. Although some of the menu’s wording and symbols are a little unclear at first, you can easily figure them out after a few minutes of exploration.

I’ve been a mechanic for 18 years, using diagnostic software daily across various platforms, and I nearly returned this reader due to its poorly laid-out interface—it’s pretty awful and far from intuitive.I bought it specifically to tweak factory settings on my 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser: enabling a single press of the unlock button on the remote to open all doors (instead of the default double press), and disabling the passenger-side seatbelt chime so my dog doesn’t trigger it constantly when he jumps up front.I eventually managed to make those changes and tested a few bi-directional controls, which worked fine. However, if I don’t use it for six months, I’m sure I’ll forget how to navigate back to those features. On the positive side, you can connect to WiFi and email reports with DTCs or sensor data, which is a nice touch. My other main complaint is the update process: the unit never recognizes that it’s already on the current version, so it repeatedly downloads and installs the same update, making it seem like you’re always out of date.

Now this scan tool really impressed me considering the price point and the amount of functionality. It can do considerably more than the average skin tool. That’s for sure, and the fact that the launch is also rebranded as the Mac and one model down from this aboard the truck in the red instead of orange is gonna run you right around three times the price now the one thing I will say is that it can only do a limited amount of code reader type functions unless you get the add-ons which you owe me subscribe to the license on an annual basis personally, I got the GM download to be able to do my personal vehicles. I’ve gotten this to be able to help with my parents Toyota minivan and it could definitely handle that and it wasn’t horrendously expensive for a yearly license, but the fact that as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection go ahead and even send health reports to the vehicles owners along with other functionalities directly from the scan tool, and it does it in a way that gives all the information anybody could ever want need or desire, while still being reasonably easy for the average person to understand without having to ask too many questions is a pretty cool feature. You can save data as your driving so you plug it in and go for a drive and it will record in real time all the data not just take snapshots but take real time data so for intermittent issues there’s a better chance of actually being able to catch that one parameter that’s going and so on considering the price point this thing punches far above its weight in a way that pleasantly surprising it does the thing what more could I possibly expect from a scan tool especially at this price?

Seriously, this diagnostic tool is incredible for the money. I used to rely on my old code reader, but once I got this specific-brand full-system scanner for my cars, it opened up a whole new world of home repair. Why I’m Impressed:Dealer-Level Access: It doesn’t just read engine codes. It gets deep into every module—ABS, Airbag (SRS), Transmission, everything. The full system scan on my older SUV found a minor issue I never even knew existed.Bi-Directional Control is Key: This is the feature you need. Instead of just reading an error, I can command a specific part (like the fuel pump or an ABS solenoid) to turn on and off. That lets me troubleshoot wiring or faulty components in minutes, not hours. No Subscription, Ever: The lifetime free updates are what sealed the deal. It keeps the software current, supporting new models (even future 2025 protocols), and I don’t have to worry about the tool becoming a brick in a year.Service Functions Galore: All the frustrating reset jobs—like registering a new battery, resetting the steering angle sensor, and even performing an oil service light reset—are all baked right in and easy to execute. It pays for itself the first time you use one of these functions instead of a shop. The screen is bright, it boots up fast, and the AUTO VIN feature means no more manually typing in year, make, and model. If you own one of these reliable Japanese brands and like to do your own maintenance, stop using a cheap code reader and get one of these specialized bidirectional scanners. It truly belongs in every owner’s garage.
Customer Review –
This is a great ODB2 scan tool at a great price point for what it delivers. It says for Toyota/Lexus because it comes already set up with the manufacturer specific codes for those vehicles. So it will absolutely work on a Ford or whatever, but you will have to search up and compare error codes to figure out the specific issue for your vehicle/model. The alternative is having to pay for the specific vehicles/brands you want in the app store and download them, so if necessary that is an option. This comes pre-loaded with all the most common issues, and all the ones most people would want/be willing to address themselves at home and probably a whole bunch of options most people would never consider messing with themselves until you tell them it’s an option. Also key is that the Toyota/Lexus info/updates are free for the lifetime of the product, so you don’t have to worry about it supporting future software or whatever. The tool itself works great, plugs in and is ready to go. The screen is decently sized and bright and clear. Easy to go through the menus and a clear enough UI. It also is rechargeable so you don’t need a constant power source, which is particularly useful on the go if you run into issues on the road. I also didn’t have any issue with it on my 10+ year old Lexus, which has been helpful to keep it running for even longer. This is a great ODB tool specific to Toyota/Lexus, so if you have a vehicle from them, this pays for itself.
