Works great. Well made. Nice case. My friend who is a certified advanced auto mechanic has had this same exact model for years, and he swears by it. I got mine so I could diagnose any engine codes on my 99 4runner and tell him, so we can plan repairs. Saves an extra trip, and step, in the process.

Engine Light
I have an 14 foot Isuzu box truck. The engine light came on and I couldn’t find anyone in town who would take the time to find out the cause of the engine light. Since I can only have maintenance done on the truck 40 miles away, I needed to know what the issue was so that I could safely drive the truck to the repair shop. After using this device, I found out that there was a glow plug that had shorted out. After researching this issue, I found that it was safe to drive the truck out of town. This saved me a $300 tow bill. Now I use this device since the engine light stays on all of the time to make sure there is not another issue.

One and Done
Used on one car to reset Emissions system codes. Tried to use it multiple times on second car, beeps and hangs, beeps and hangs. Hit it against the console, dash, anything I could to get it to stop beeping (bad solder joint) and try to use Enter or ESC keys before the beeping started again and consequently locked it up. On its way to the trash and ironically protected it like a baby between uses, n its case, in its box, on a bookshelf. Guess with the cost of someone else reading your codes I got my money’s worth but … I’d have liked to get more than 2 uses out of it.
