Item Great, Packaging NOT So Much
First of all, my son actually LOVES this weed eater. He goes and grabs it each and every week that we “mow the grass” so that he can follow me around and trim the weeds, too.That being said, the packaging on this item wasn’t up to Amazon’s usual level. I know that it’s an unusualy shaped item, but the box that was used was conisderably larger than it needed to be. Inside, there was a good amount of brown paper packaging material, but instead of wrapping the item, like you would expect, the item was just setting on the bottom of the box with the packaging paper on top of it. Packaged like this, there was little to no protection of the item, itself, and it easily shifted around inside the box. (I’m actually amazed that it arrived in one piece!!) I’m not sure what happened, but this definitely wasn’t up to par with the typically sound packaging that Amazon produces.

I bought this for my nephews 2nd birthday. He loves it and it’s so cute. The only reason I gave it 4 stars it was hard for him to pull the cord. He was excited to hear the sound.

My grandson loved this toy when he saw his weed Wacker. Very cute toy. However, he pulled the string to start it and the string broke for him due to him yanking on it so hard and so much.

Fun product
Ordered this ‘string trimmer’ for my grandson (2yrs) and we both love it! The pull cord is easy enough for him to pull himself and it didn’t take long for him to figure out how to pull it and then push the button on the handle to make it ‘work’. It seems sturdy and well made – just got it, so time will tell – but I’m confident that it will be great for as long he will ‘use’ it!!

A fun and easy to use toy!
I noticed a few people said it was dead on arrival. I just want to make sure that folks understand that the button to spin the weed eater “head” ONLY works if you prime it with the cord first. Otherwise you can push the button all day and nothing will spin. It’s similar to a pull back style toy car. You need to pull the cord a few times, then your kid can go for it. It’s really well made and true John Deere colors. My 3 year old is going to flip on Christmas morning!

Awesome like my grandson
Perfect size for my 2 1/2 year old grandson. Requires no batteries. When you pull the start-up rope it makes engine sounds and winds a spring which powers the string. The string is safely inside a see-through enclosure. Squeeze the throttle and the string spins. The spinning knocks some stuff around inside the enclosure and makes the sound of grass cutting. I’m excited about giving this to the little man. He’s going to love being just like his daddy with this.
