I love the extra attachments on this. The saw moves back and forth, and the vacuum blows around plastic beads. Changing the heads is easy for adults but not for toddlers. When my daughter wants it switched, I have to do it. The toy isn’t as loud as a normal vacuum, and the sound is like a light white noise so it isn’t annoying. It is made of plastic, so I don’t imagine it lasting more than one kid, but for pretend carpenter play, it’s a great little addition.

Cute and educational
Kids develop best when they are able to engage in activities that to them are “grown up”. When they see mom and dad using power tools, they want to participate too. This cute set includes a base (power) unit, and two accessories – a saw and a hand vac. The child can choose the accessory of choice, snap it into place, and go.Don’t worry – the saw is harmless. It doesn’t have sharp edges and it moves very slowly in a back and forth motion, but the child gets the idea. The hand vac doesn’t actually vacuum anything, but it has colorful whirling beads that are great for “pretend” vacuuming.Though I’m pretty sure the kids don’t care about the “John Deere” branding, that’s a cute touch as well.This set is labeled for 3 and up, but it’s perfectly fine for my two year old grandtwins. There are no small parts to worry about.
