Works great
This works way better than I expected for the price. Very easy to use.The only thing to be mindful of, it doesn’t work for my house along the corners of any walls (I believe that’s from the metal trim in the drywall interfering?) . I thought I had a major leak going on around a window until I realized it indicates anywhere there’s an edge. But for basic leak detection outside of that, it works very well.

SUPER SIMPLE! No ambiguity here!
This is a great little moisture reader.I have tried other models and they give you some numbers and different modes for different types of material but what do you do with the numbers??? what is a “normal” reading? etc…I used this to detect possible leaks in the walls.Most moisture meters out there tend to specialize for measuring moisture in wood and various material.This one works really really well for regular dry wall!You drag it slowly along the wall near areas where you suspect there might be a leak.For my part, it discovered that while there was no pipe leak, there WAS a lot of wicking moisture from the grout in the shower to the backing drywall material (an old shower without a waterproof membrane).The meter was VERY clear. In most area, it would show 0% moisture. As I approached the shower, it gradually increased all the way to 100%… There is also a color scale indicator (from green (OK) to RED… bad/wet!). And once you pass a certain level of moisture, the meter will also beep!Like I said… NO AMBIGUITY with this device.It will tell you in simple terms: You are OK or HEY! There is excess moisture in this wall!Verdict: GET IT!Get it if you suspect moisture or water leak in a wall.At about 20% moisture, you may start having some mold in the wall.This meter is affordable… it’s worth having one on hand!

Limited Applications, But Works Very Well!
This tool is very sensitive and is great at what it does. The LED readout that accompanies the LCD screen is really nice and there are pre-calibrated settings for different types of materials (drywall, wood, etc).The only downside I found with this particular “pinless” type unit is that the sensing portion is limited to a square pad on the back side of the unit. Unlike the “pin” type meters, this makes getting into tighter places very difficult.For instance, I wanted to check baseboards and grout seams for signs of moisture after a custom shower installation and it was virtually impossible to use this unit in the corners and at the base of the tile where I needed to measure. For applications that involve tighter areas as this or areas with inside corners, a classic “pin” type unit is much more convenient.All in all, this is a very nice unit for the price with a decent overall range and great sensitivity. Recommended!

Failed after 3 months. Fixed by recalibration (in the manual), thanks to customer support
The unit worked just fine and was quite useful from mid-March to mid-June. Then, suddenly something happened, and the sensitivity suddenly dropped on all ranges. it still feels the hand, but on the wall, masonry, softwood and hardwood shows only 0, where an hour ago I saw 15 to 55% of moisture. Replaced the battery with fresh one – nothing changes. Opened the case and did not see any broken wire. Actually, pretty nice design and well manufactured (I can tell that being a professional in engineering), but is completely useless now.UPDATE: contacted warranty department and they responded with the advice – recalibrate the unit. Pretty simple operation, and they attached the manual, so took about a minute to do. The unit works fine again, and I love the customer support!

This is a wonderful tool. When I received it I was testing it on different areas in the house where there was water damage. It works perfectly. I even placed it on the toilet tank, etc. I was very impressed with the performance. I also purchased one for my sister.

I doubt the accuracy of the results
It seems to me that the results are not very precise, they vary a lot with other instruments of greater precision, if I put them in direct contact with a surface such as dry concrete, 80% humidity appears, I do not know if the measurement should be done without touching the surface and depending on the distance the results vary, there is no manual for performing a correct measurement method.

A lifesaver tool!
We recently had a plumbing leak that resulted in water under the flooring and also in the drywall. We had professional mitigation come to dry everything. The noise of multiple large fans and dehumidifiers was overpowering and we were anxious to have the process finished. We ordered this moisture meter so we could judge the progress ourselves. I feel that it definitely helped shorten the process because we could be confident that the walls were dry. The meter functioned quickly and accurately. It was easy to understand the readings.

Llegó en tiempo y rápido, el producto como tal es bueno había leído comentarios de que no servía e hice pruebas antes de usarlo en el trabajo y sí funciona.Es a base de campo electromagnético que lo hace no invasivo y creo que eso mismo es lo que reduce su rango de humedad y también depende del material en el que se use, es ideal para mampostería de block, tabiques…, concreto simple, y madera.Y más que tomarlo como un porcentaje de humedad funciona como un sí hay humedad (suena) o No hay humedad (no suena).
