This is the 8″ version of what I purchased years ago (my original pair is 6″). I needed a set of calipers for an engine rebuild project. Before using it each time, I always run it all the way out and back to verify that it holds its zero. These are just as precise as my 6″ pair. Packaging/case is good quality and they even threw in two extra batteries.HOT TIP: remove the battery after each use. I can’t say for sure on this pair, but my other pair eats batteries when left in storage.

Dont buy – broke after 2 months. Read review for detail
Worked fine for about a month. Now it is only showing half the measurement exactly. So if you measure something that is 10mm, the display shows 5mm. 30mm is 15mm, etc. It isnt a zeroing issue, it just isnt registering and of course it’s outside the return window…these things can break, but I would have expected YEARS, like my other ones. not barely 2 months.Strongly do not recommend.

these are smooth, fairly accurate, repeats the same dim’s etc-( unlike the silver calipers ASIN : B0CGS298F4 which are crude/stiff feeling, don’t repeat the same measurement, and are always off by a few thou.)

Not as accurate as expected or required for this type of tool!
This was made to be inexpensive, but lacks the accuracy needed to do real machine work. It measured the outside diameter as close as I expected (+-.oo1). For measurement of bores, it continually was giving readings of .005 under the actual bore diameter. I would not buy this again. Other calipers in this price range are a better buy.
