Works well
This OBD2 scanner works great for checking and resetting codes on GM vehicles. The screen is clear, and the menu system is straightforward even for beginners. It connects quickly and provides detailed readouts for different systems like ABS and oil reset. My husband used it on his GMC truck, and it saved us a trip to the shop. It feels solid and comes with a durable cable that coils neatly for storage.

Entry Level but Nice
It’s entry level folks. The reviewers on here whining that it can’t do what the pro $700 programmers can do is pretty silly. It’s a basic OBD scanner with a really nice full color display. Has a few more GM specific PID descriptions than you would find on a more generic code scanner. It has about 6 of the most basic service functions like quickly resetting oil reminder, servicing brakes. The basic stuff that a driveway mechanic would probably use doing standard maintenance stuff. Pro level service functions like programing keys, resetting airbag lights after repairs, things like that, are only available on much higher spec diagnostic readers. It does have the ability to review all kinds of live data, which is the number one thing you need to take a peak at to determine why a car is running rough these days. Sensors going in and out won’t always throw a code but if you know what you’re looking at in the live data, you can easily pickup on drop outs, and bad connections by moving things around while watching the numbers.I personally use an ELM327 connected to an Android phone with the Car Scanner App for my basic code reading, data viewing and logging, and system resets. Give you more access to other system modules to view, read, and clear, as well. It’s also cheaper. Not for everyone though.This tool is much better suited for someone who doesn’t need all the complications, wants to read and clear codes, do their own oil changes, etc..

Outstanding code reader for all vehicles, and especially for GM-brands of vehicles.
Excellent OBD2 scanner with extra functionality with GM vehicles. This scanner is excellent in my opinion, having owned several others over time. Easy, intuitive user interface, with extra functionality for resetting sensors and codes for all vehicles, but particularly for GM vehicles. I am very glad to have ordered this item and appreciate having it at my disposal in the garage. Seems to be a very good value overall. Recommended!

Fairly simple to use
It’s a good thing this scanner is simple to use because the directions are minimal. The scanner itself is very thorough with its abilities and is easy to understand. When I opened the package, my friend who is a mechanic, was with me. I had him show me how to use it. It took very little time to have it up and running.I had no fault codes on my 2005 Chevy Silverado with a 6.6 liter Duramax and we verified the voltage of the charging system while the truck was running, and verified the batteries when it was turned off. Then we plugged it into his truck. It’s a newer model so he has deleted everything that he can to gain power and fuel efficiency. Code after code showed up, but he said that is as it should be, because of the deletes. This scanner works really well!I can’t pretend to be a motor head, but my friend said this scanner has more features than many of the ones he has used, and he highly recommends it for its ease of use and abilities.

I was mislead into believing this item was compatible with my vehicle only to purchase it and learn it is not compatible. I was hugely disappointed.

Easy-to-read OBD2 scanner, packed with features. Works for Dodge too. Long cord.
I tested this on my Dodge Grand Caravan and it read just about everything I needed it to. I have a couple OBD2 scanners and they are great but this one is way better. The menu, screen, and colors of this one makes it so easy to read. It is very responsive and it is full of information. I am not a pro when it comes to OBD2 diagonsitics but I do know how to read the basics and find basic problems. This scanner helped me find my issues with ease. It has so many functions, it will be a while before I figure them all out. I love how easy this one is to use too. It is a great design with a great menu. It also feels like it is built to last. This one doesn’t feel as cheap as my other ones.

Will recognize Silverados
Item works fine. It’s not a fully featured scanner by any means. But it does recognize a 2005 Silverado 1500 Z71 and will read error codes and does have nice data about said errors. I’d recommend if you need a bare minimum device.

Decent buy for the price.
Overall nice scanner. Great value for the price. Has very basic features but still reliable. There are better units on the market but this one is great for starers.
