Cleared my 996 Carrera’s airbag error light.
It cleared the airbag error light on my 1999 996 Carrera. That right there paid for the Scan Tool over having a shop clear the light.Like many items that are made in China the instructions leave a bit to be desired. I believe that comes from having them interpreted from Chinese to English. But I was able to figure out how to connect it to my laptop and update to the latest software.It took me a while to figure out how to get to the Airbag module to clear the error light. But I managed to get it done without having to contact Customer Support.All in all I am quite happy with the Icarsoft p700 v1.0 scan tool and would recommend it to any Porsche owner who likes to work on their cars.

Got this analyzer last week, price much less expensive than standard home Porsche tool, Duramatic. The Durmatic is $289 and just software + a cable that plugs into a laptop. Time will ultimately tell how satisfied I am with the iCarSoft V1.0 but looks good so far, great that this product has its own screen and I do not to not have to depend upon a laptop.I’m not planning on any major car mods but wanted something to help me diagnose problems when they occur and reset oil interval after an oil change as I live 1.5 hours away from the dealership. For those less familiar with Porsche, Porsche uses OBD-II but there are special extensions that require a compatible analyzer to access. Hoping this analyzer will do the trick, seems to talk to the car OK after I installed the latest software although I was disappointed to find out later that there was a more expensive analyzer (V2.0) that might have more capabilities.Not much documentation in the box, just a very small multi-lingual pamphlet but when I had a question, I got a very quick response from Barnett Davies at support@icarsoft.us which helped me get by the terse text query for resetting the oil interval that had me flummoxed. Still looking for more insight into how best to use the analyzer due to the limited documentation and while there is a help button at first glance it seems like it needs to be better supported.

This kit has already saved me time and money. I used it to reset my oil service reminder and the airbag light when I took apart my dash and steering wheel! Great purchased worked on my 997 when DURAMETRIC would not do the trick!

Coded my radio.
Plugged into my 2007 Porsche Cayman S and it did work well. Was able to see engine temps, engine bay temps, oil etc and it all seemed to work wonderful – then my sound system stopped working. Nothing I did or tried to clear would work. No codes came up for the electrical system. Nothing I did would get the sound system to work, would just stay on “porsche”. Took it to the shop I always go to and they said that they had to clear a bunch of system codes to get the radio to work. Thankfully, my shop is amazing and didn’t charge me. Expect a 90+ bill just to get codes cleared on the radio system if you buy this and it does the same thing to your porsche. Then you have to ask yourself, what else did it mess up in the system that you can’t see or understand yet?

Very easy to use and navigate all the different features to scan and find how my engine is performing…use it in my 911,A4,BMW 733i and Land Rover Discovery !! Was able to find out which sensor is malfunctioning and replaced it …. also cleared the engine light from the dash board !

Airbag light reset for Porsche Boxster
The airbag light on my Porsche Boxster came on. A year ago for a similar issue I had to take my car to a Porsche shop. It took 4 trips and $ 800.00 to fix. This time I decided to use this scanner and was able to reset the light in two minutes.

Would not work for 2018 Porsche Macan S
The product connected to the cars diagnostic port with no problem. The product also successfully did a diagnostic scan. However the product failed to reset the oil change warning sensor which is why I bought the device. I want to change my own oil, and did so, but I needed to let the sensor know so that I don’t get an oil change warning every time I turn on the car. I contacted the vendor and they asked me to send them a diagnostic log which I did. They then told me I needed a software update which would only work on a Windows machine. I have a Mac but visited a friend and successfully updated to the new software version. However that version behaved in exactly the same way and though it stated that it had completed the update, my car was not updated. It failed to perform as advertised.
