Autel Maxicheck Pro works great for ABS Bleed on 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid
The Autel Maxicheck Pro worked great for fixing the ABS System on my 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid. Previously, I had done front brake pads on the car and air had gotten into the brake lines. With ABS, no amount of conventional bleeding would work for me. The ABS dash light and the BRAKE dash light were both on continuously and the brakes were grabbing and getting weak. The Autel website did not specifically list my car as compatible with the Maxicheck Pro. Other users said it had worked for a 2007, so i took a chance and ordered it. Autel Support people could not guarantee it would work either, but told me I could return it for a full refund if it didn’t work. The unit arrived quickly. The Autel Maxicheck Pro connected easily to my car and the Scans showed several ABS Fault Codes associated with low pressure at the front wheels as expected. The Autel Maxicheck Pro offered me two types of ABS Bleed: a Power Bleed if I had a high pressure pump or an assisted Manual Bleed whereby the ABS Pump would be run and the ABS valves would be opened selectively wheel by wheel. I did not have a high pressure pump, so I opted for the latter method. The Autel Maxicheck Pro gave me step by step instructions and I successfully bled all four wheels, one at a time. Afterwards, the ABS fault codes for low pressure disappeared and the ABS dash light went out. The BRAKE dash light stayed on because there were some other faults from some other inter-related modules. I then ran the IVD Initialization Sequence listed by the Maxicheck Pro which cleared those other Faults and reinitialized the ABS System. The BRAKE dash light went out. The car and it’s brakes are now functioning properly. I could not have done this without the Autel Maxicheck Pro and very glad that it worked for my car!

Plenty of data, easy to use, many functions
Bought the MaxiCheck Pro because I needed to clear a C2202 code after replacing the ABS control module on my 2011 Dodge Avenger which caused my speedometer to stop working. This scanner worked perfectly by reprogramming the module with the ABS Initialization. It got rid of the ABS, traction control, BRAKE, and check engine dash lights after initializing the ABS module. My speedometer also starting functioning like normal again. The dealer was going to charge $160 to initialize the ABS module, but I figured I could spend a little more to do it myself and have a high end scanner for a decent price. I do not regret my decision to purchase the MaxiCheck Pro because I plan on getting a lot more use out of this amazing scanner.

Ok tool for the price. (Updated 12/26/19)
Ok product for the price. OBD2 code read function works well. Some of the other diagnostic functions… I am aware and knew before buying that not all vehicles would be supported. It seems as if this tool was designed for asian made vehicles only and the US made (ie. Chevy, Ford, Dodge) was an after thought. If you’re a shade tree mechanic it will do most things you need. I haven’t tested the ABS bleed function yet. If you’re a mechanic by profession, I would look elsewhere for a tool that gives more support to all vehicles.Update as of 12/26/19. Autel has contacted me and provided instructions on updating the software which so far has resolved the issues I had. The ABS auto bleed function works well. Customer service is always in contact and available.The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because in order to update the software, you must have a PC. I understand the more expensive models you dont need one but for this one you either have to have a PC or borrow one and install the programming. Personally I had to buy a computer in order to update the software and this reasonably priced tool was a bit more after purchasing a computer.

Nice device with several flaws
First of all, it does what it is supposed to do, if you can use it out-of-the-box. If you need it to do more or you want to upload new configs or update the software you need a lot of patience.It’s easy to use, no doubt. I found out that it does not provide all ODB2 signals my cars are providing. Some are missing, so diagnosing a problem becomes quite difficult. A higher-priced scanner is a better option.I read in the forum, that it might be helpful to update the scanner, which only works after you registered the scanner. I tried, and the website did not let me register at all, since you need to use MFA that doesn’t work, it neither let me receive a code via cell nor email. I tried to email their support, but it also didn’t work, since I never heard back. So I was stuck with a scanner with limited features and data.I returned it.

Good tester and great price
Nice tester fixed the brakes on a 2010 escape with this the abs module was messing up with brake pedal going to the floor changed to dot4 fluid and bled abs module with this worked great!

Awesome
The maxicheck pro is one of the greatest additions I’ve made to my tool box. It makes diagnosing problems so much easier and cuts the time in half. I’ve used it on many different makes and models and it is always very straight forward and easy to use (even my technology challenged dad can use it) and the screen is very easy to read. Not only is the maxicheck pro awesome to have the customer service that comes with it is bar none! Not only are they willing to help you with any questions you have they reached out to me just to check in and make sure me and the maxicheck pro were doing ok lol. Great company and great products. Highly recommend.

Awesome scanner for the money! Very user friendly!
This is a great scanner for the money, very capable! I bought it because I needed to auto bleed the Abs brake system in my 2013 Heavy Duty Silverado. You may need to run the auto bleed up to 4x to get a full purge of the air. This isn’t a flaw in the scanner, it’s basically just hitting the go button on the ABS. It would be the same process on a megabuck snap-on scanner! Before you start, have your Vin number ready, and maybe snap a pic of the RPO codes from your glove box, there’s a few questions the scanner will ask before you get rolling. No complaints thus far, very straightforward user interface, 10 of 10 would buy again!

Llegó en tiempo y forma sin ningún inconveniente.Me sirvió para re-inicializar el módulo de ABS de un Dodge Charger SXT 2008, ya que tenía código de falla del módulo, y lo que ví en foros, antes de cambiar al módulo, tratar de re-inicializarlo y funcionó.Tengan en cuenta que para poder actualizarlo, necesitan un lector de memorias SD clásico en la PC, ya que es del tamaño grande y no es como la micro SD, para que lo tomen en consideración.
