The HD210 HD Truck Scanner by ANCEL, is a great little tool that has so much capabilities combined with a compact size and the adaptability to be used for so many things. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – It feels like a solidly built device that should hold up well, assuming the electronics survive. I’d put it in the upper-middle level of the quality scale for scanners.II. Performance – This is a great machine if you want to be able to access multiple vehicles with the same device. One thing that sets it apart from your standard scanner is that it has two plugs, one for Volvo and International rigs and the other for standard OBD2 on regular cars and trucks. It won’t go as deep or allow as much control on any single vehicle as if you get one specific for that vehicle, but it’ll access a ton of different makes and models. However, it’ll do most things you would need and provides a lot of usability for diagnosis, testing, and recalibrating you wouldn’t normally have access to. The connectivity through Bluetooth has worked great so far and allows quick and easy access. The app is helpful and fairly easy to useIII. Updates – This device claims to have free updates and optimization for life. If true, this is a big value and selling feature that many others will charge for.Overall, this is a great device that has worked wonderful for my needs so far. With this device and my mechanical abilities, I can take care of most things at home if I choose to and that’s an amazing time and money saver. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Though I’ve recently gone to OBD scanners with dedicated screens to avoid Bluetooth connection issues that seem to crop up with Bluetooth OBD scanners, this Bluetooth-connecting OBD scanner for heavier commercial vehicles and trucks is a good alternative if space and cost are an issue. For those simply wanting the ability to toss an OBD device in the glovebox or tool box for on-the-road issues, this thing is perfect.Ancel is a quality maker of OBD devices–and other vehicle test equipment. Software for this scanner runs on IOS and Android. You must download the Ancel software, an easy process. Wastage of money. It frequently failed to connect to my truck( VolvoVnl) ECU, and when it did, it only read basic codes—none of the advanced diagnostics that were advertised.
