Excellent heat-set insert tips for 3D printing
I picked up this 7-piece heat-set insert tip kit primarily for 3D printing projects and it has been a great addition to my setup. The machining on each tip is clean and consistent, and they thread securely into my soldering iron without wobble. I’m using a standard 900M-style iron and the fit was immediate with no adapters needed.Performance-wise, the tips heat evenly and seat threaded inserts smoothly into PLA, PETG, and ABS. Once heated, they transfer heat efficiently so inserts go in straight without excessive pressure or melting surrounding plastic. The variety of sizes is also very useful. Having M2 through M8 covered in one set eliminates the need to swap between multiple tools or guess on sizing when working across different builds.Compared to some budget tips I’ve used before, these feel more durable and hold temperature better during longer sessions. The finish hasn’t shown premature wear and threading remains smooth after repeated swaps. Perfect heat insert tips for your soldering iron. I use these to put inserts in 3D prints and they work perfectly! Easy to use and change out. The sizes cover all the inserts I use. Hard to find a better value for your money. Highly recommend.

Great item if you’re installing more than a couple of press in fittings.
They work well, but don’t think these will fit the cheep 20watt soldering iron. They do fit my weller.

Nice multipack
This kit covers all the common sizes I need for 3D printing projects, and the brass tips feel solid and well-made. They fit snugly into threaded inserts and heat evenly, making installation smooth. The only minor drawback is that the smaller tips take a little practice to align perfectly and clog easily, but overall, it’s a great set for the price.

Nothing fits 1/4-20 but it was easy to modify to work.
Just a note if you’re wanting for 1/4-20 which I’m sure most of us want. The 6mm is too small and the 8mm is too large but I tossed the 8mm in a drill chuck and used a file to file it down to maybe 6.75mm or so and it worked perfectly. This took me less than 60 seconds to do so I’m very happy with the set and the ability to easily modify it for my needs.
