   soldering iron kit was exactly what i was looking for to get started with heat inserts in 3d prints
   the soldering iron, tips, and assorted collection of brass heat inserts came in package. the soldering iron was sperate.everything worked in iron – once I figured out how to turn it on. easy-to-read digital temperature readout. hardware buttons to addjust temperature up or down.the way to turn on or turn off soldering iron: find something that can depress the recessed power button (pencil eraser end, or something similar in small shaft object with a flat end). depress the button, holding for several seconds.the soldering iron will power on with the temperature display turning on. To turn off, do the same procedure of depressing the button for several seconds.

   Great bit of kit
   This is a slick little piece of kit for people who are into 3d printing and using metric inserts. It was much more than I was expecting, with the took coming with 380 inserts from 2-8 mm as well as 1/4-20. The tool itself is actually a temperature controlled soldering iron with a sturdy silicone sleeve over the hot pointy end. There are individual swappable tips for each size of insert. The iron is nicely sized and easy to handle, heating quickly. Just pick the size, install it on the iron, turn it on and when ready, press the insert into place.For those who are not quite comfortable placing inserts, there are of number of print-it-yourself plans available: Some of which require you to heat set inserts so you can heat set inserts. 😕

   It just works.
   I was skeptical but went ahead and purchased this for placing inserts in things like 3D printed parts and other plastic material projects. It worked flawlessly. As long as you pay attention to your tool placement and keep it level and vertically plumb then it will make short work of your project needs. For the price of admission this tool has been an excellent purchase for my little shop. I like the ease of changing the tips for different sized fasteners. I also like the adjustable heat setting. Buy with confidence, this item is worth getting if you need to place brass inserts in your plastic or 3D printed items.

   Must have for 3d printer projects
   Man this thing heats up fast. I like that it comes with all the push bits you need. Take the time to learn how that goes together. I was in a rush for the first couple inserts and I just used the solder tip. It works but you’ll get a better insertion if it can move freely while it’s melting. A lot smaller than I thought also. Very compact and easy to use.

   Fast heat, good selection of inserts, high quality
   Worked great. Needed 6 inserts for some parts to my CNC and this worked great. Nice selection of brass threaded inserts along with the heating element and insertion fittings. The heating element (soldering iron?) heated up very quickly and worked like a charm.

   Es ist ein witziger Lötkolben mit eingebauter Temperatur-Anzeige.Die mitgelieferten Einsätze sind zu klein, das führt dazu, dass geschmolzenes Filament auch in das Gweinde eindringt und es somit unbrauchbar macht. Ein dickerer, längerer Einsatz könnte das verhindern.
