    Good, worth the money
I have put this thing through the ringer! The alignment has stayed true and the clamp has stayed tight. I have about 24 working hrs on this so far and I will have many more to come. Super easy to use once you get past lefty tighty; Meaning to tighen your clamp you’ll have to turn the keyway to the left, not right, but once you get the muscle memory down its easy peasy!! I am using this on a central machinery (harbor frieght) lathe. Build quality is top notch for the price range. As a beginner woodturner, this was perfect for me. Works great and doesnt break the bank. If you have been on the fence about buying this, allow this review to give you the nudge you’ve been looking for. BUY IT!

    Good quality chuck
This chuck works well and is quality made and easy to use. It fit my lathe perfectly with no issues. . I consider it to be good value. I am not sure about the hold though. Part flew off a couple of times but it might have been operator error. I do recommend this item.

    Eazy to use chuck
I have no complaints. It’s my second lathe chuck and I really like the single handle tightening system

    Great quality for the $$
This is a great addition for any lathe. I have an older Craftsman lathe and this chuck expanded my abilities to turn items I never could before. The price is more than fair considering the quality. I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

    Well-made Chuck
The chuck is very well made and works perfectly. The jaws close solidly and hold the workpiece in place for working on spindles or bowls. It is hefty and accurate as the description indicates. It is a good value for the money, and a pleasure to use.

    Affordable 4-Jaw Chuck for Beginners
I’ve been using this for about a month fairly consistently and it has held up. I have it on a smaller tabletop lathe using the thread adapter included with it. The adapter almost always stays locked in the chuck but I’m super glad it was included in the set.The jaws clamp down well and hold tight. Only if I get really hard catches in hardwood end grain has it be coming loose. Usually only enough to make a wobble so I just reseat the piece and it’s fine. I’m still learning so having that jaw strength with the amount of catches I can sometimes get is great.I’ve used it both on tenons and in recessed round mortises and it holds on great to both. The included jaws have a slight dovetail shape so make sure to flare out or in your tenon or recess to make sure you get a nice tight hold. The only one small complaint I have is with the worm-drive screw. The area in the chuck-jaws where you put the centering screw is smooth, and the indent in the screw itself is also smooth, so even with it clamped in the jaw if the piece resists being screwed on enough it will freely start to spin in the jaws even when tightened all the way. I’ll probably just fix it but putting some tape in the channel of the screw so the jaws have something to put some friction in when screwing on a blank or something. It’s really not a problem at all so I didn’t decide to dock it any stars considering how well this thing has been performing for the price.I would say if you are a beginner and you want a chuck to start out with, this won’t set you back and you will get a set of jaws that performs well and can probably be extended with some new jaws down the road. I would certainly buy this again if I needed another.

Had to trim the adapter to make it fit. Good Chuck.
Good chuck. In order to get the adapter to bit on the threads of my 3/4×16 spindle I had to cut off the last 1/4-inch. I used a band saw and trued it up on a metal lathe, but a hacksaw and file would do. Since the set screw was cut off, I securee the adapter into the chuck with red Locktite.

The 1″-8tpi to 3/4″-16tpi adaptor is just what I needed to make this work, and it came with it 🙂 There is a very nice Allen-key to tighten the adaptor. The chuck is heft, solid build, 4-jaw synchronous, which makes it easy to use. Good quality chuck key.Very pleased with this chuck.
