Don’t buy.
I returned it immediately. It was not made well at all. There was slag on the threads and did not work.

nice tool
cool little tool to eliminate the need for that big bag of extra adapters and glues

Nicely made. Not so easy to use. Not faster than glue.
The idea of cutting threads in your PVC pipe seems very cool. Not so easy to pull off.I tried using the cordless drill and it essentially stripped the plastic with no threads. Don’t use a cordless drill. You have to use a tap and die type too to SLOWLY drive the threader onto the PVC pipes. So it does take some work, practice, and skill. Now the question is: Are the threads with teflon tape really water tight? I”m skeptical on how long that will last compared to using solvent glue which has been the standard for a long time.Maybe for conduit? It just seems the effort to cut the threads is far more than using glue. It will come out cleaner with practice, but if you’re trying to move quick, not so much.

Very good, but there’s a caveat!
These pipe thread cutters are well made and will do the job with a big caveat. You have to size the pipe properly. I will bring this to the supply store to assure fit. This will involve trial and error in the store aisle as the vendor doesn’t provide any usable information about assuring good fit.I have a piece of 3/4″ rigid PVC conduit on hand, so I tested that. The outside diameter is too wide for the cutter as it’s a thick wall. The result is just a nasty looking chamfer about 1/4″ wide. The inside diameter accepted the 1/2″ cutter nicely and it cut good threads until it bottomed out.TIP: Don’t keep turning once it bottoms out or you will quickly remove the freshly cut threads! The threads can be cut with a power drill, but cleaner threads will result if you do it by hand. At least on the test pipe I have. Some sort of lubricant may be a good idea, like silicone grease. The quality of the tools is very good. I found well-cut threads without any burrs or debris. They are very heavy-duty.Using threads to connect pipe and fittings is not quicker than gluing, but they can be disassembled whereas glue cannot. That good for odd projects in which you want to be able to remove the fittings or adjust the specific tightness and length of the fastening. Structural projects using PVC pipe come to mind. If the pipes are used for fluids, a sealant would be a good idea.Anyway, they’re pretty good. The challenge is finding the correct size pipe.Verdict: Recommended with the caveat.

Handy threading tools that work well once you get the feel for them.
They attach to a drill easily and cut clean threads on PVC for both internal and external applications. It definitely makes quick work of small plumbing or conduit jobs without needing a full threading machine.Quality feels solid with sharp dies and a sturdy build. For value, the price is fair since you get both 1/2 and 3/4 sizes in one set.

Too small
Haven’t tried the 1/2 inch yet. The 3/4 inch is too small to thread a 3/4 fitting as and the outside threads cut all the way thru the sch. 40 pipe. Useless
