Very Nice Tool
Was worried of the quality. This unit is solid. Heavy duty quality for a lifetime of rivet work. Quick response fwd/rev. There are no real consumables aside the rivets. The head units quick release is insanely thought through. Super easy and effective. Replacement heads are cheap. I would recommend this to anyone needing a dependable tool. Done with the manual style tools. Lol

This is a good tool.
I’ve had an interesting journey with this tool. I’m on my second one but that’s a good thing. I originally bought this tool from Amazon and was very disappointed with it. I had a big problem with the mandrel getting stuck in a partially installed but not completely crimped, spinning rivnut. It was very frustrating. I had to use a hacksaw several times to cut the tool free from the project as the mandrel would become seized inside the rivnut. I wound up returning the tool and writing a scathing review of the product.A few months later, I received an email from the company. They had read my review and wanted to make things right. They were offering to ship me a free tool if I would be interested and spent some time explaining why I was having the problems that I was. The bottom line? The mandrel needs to be greased, frequently, to prevent it from heating up. Evidently, when it heats up, it pulls off some of the zinc coating on the steel inside the threaded portion of the insert and this material gets jammed up in between the threads. This happens before the insert is fully compressed which will cause it to spin within the work after the mandrel seizes up. With the first tool that I had purchased, this seizing problem was occurring every 3-6 installations. In hind sight, it was this quantity of rivnuts that allowed the ungreased mandrel to build up enough heat for problems to begin with subsequent installations.During my emails back and forth with the company, they asked how long the air hose was in my setup. (Any of you pneumatic tool users know about having to adjust pressure to compensate for long runs of hose.) They made specific recommendations for my particular set up for air pressures for each of the different sizes of rivnuts that can be installed. They were very patient with my questions and concerns and willing to listen to and address various points that I brought up. I was impressed with their customer service and believed they were a good company to work with so I took them up on their offer to retry the tool at their cost. They shipped one out to me immediately. When I received the new tool from the company to try, I decided to waste a bunch of rivnuts in a test to see if everything that I had been told was accurate. I started by setting my air pressure according to their recommendations. Then, dipping the mandrel into some grease every two or three rivnuts to ensure that it was always lubricated, I successfully installed 30 rivnuts in rapid succession without a single failure. I was very pleased. The tool worked flawlessly. It was painfully clear that lubrication was an important part of the process and something that I paid dearly for in not doing so with the first tool that I used.In retrospect, I went back and looked more closely at the Amazon product page and sure enough, they do recommend that the mandrel be greased, although the documentation that came with the product I found to be lacking. There are plenty of situations where the person using the tool may not be the one who purchased it and may never see the instructions. (Example: A gift from someone else or an employee in a company who is handed the tool and just told to use it.) I think the company that makes this tool would benefit from placing some kind of sticker or label on the tool that has to be physically removed by the user before they can operate it the first time. This label should clearly state the importance of lubricating the mandrel, frequently, during use to ensure smooth operation. I mentioned this to the person I was emailing with as well. They seemed very receptive to the idea.Overall, I am pleased to be happy with this tool. I’m pleased that the company took the time to reach out and explain to me what I was doing wrong and offered to replace the tool at their cost in order to make my experience with it a better one. You don’t see this kind of behavior much with companies these days.As a result of this experience, I took down my old one star review and replaced it with this one. The company did not ask for this. There were no conditions placed on me for the receipt of a free tool. I’m happy to change my review as I see that the tool works quite well when used properly. The only other recommendation I might ask the company to consider would be to put a better muffler on the air outlet of the tool. It is quite loud during use. The plastic screen over the exhaust port does little to quiet the noise. This is easily remedied by wearing ear protection, however, and isn’t a deal breaker for me ay all.Five stars for this product and the company that stands behind it. Thank you for the help!

Great product! Updated design
I work at an experimental custom fabrication shop and we use these tools every day. The updated mandrel is larger and much stronger. The forward and reverse buttons are separate now and marked making it easy to use. The cap screw driver is a common part we have in our parts crib so they are easy to replace, which if you use this every day you will break a cap screw driver. It has an air control to slow the speed for setting steel nuts and not over expanding them. The guys here have the new and older design and they both work great but I personally prefer the newer design. If I change anything, I may make some new buttons out of aluminum instead of plastic so I can have a red and blue button instead of black plastic for both. Still an excellent tool at a great price.

Very good tool, noisy
This pneumatic rivet nut gun is a very good tool for DIY enthusiasts and professionals, offering excellent performance, ease of use, versatility and durability. Its pneumatic operation is noisy (so wear ear protection) and its interchangeable chucks and nosepieces provide flexibility for a variety of projects. Its construction is heavy compared to plunger models, but the tool feels sturdy and well-built, which makes it a worthwhile investment for anyone who performs daily tasks. The marking of the rivet head is a differentiator, which helps with quality control (very visual).

Should of been easier.
Gun works as it should but they send you 4 extra mandrels (1/2″ and 3/8″). None of our replacement mandrels are UNC 1/2-13. Only the one pre installed in the gun. Now I am in the middle of a job and have to locate a very specific allen head bolt to continue my work.

Makes Fast Work of PlusNuts and Rivet Nuts
I bought this to install some PlusNuts that will hold L track in a new Ford Transit van. When I got this out of the box I had to install the quick connect, but otherwise it was fully assembled. It didn’t come with any teflon tape, which would have been a nice touch. I changed the size of the mandrel and that was easy once I figured out that I had to install the little socket-looking thing in the gun first and then install the rest. The operation is very easy. It went in quickly and without any issues. Once the PlusNut seats you simply press the bottom (reverse) button to unscrew it from the nut and move on to the next one. This works very well and I am pleased. Once I install about 100 of these we will see how well I like it and will update this review if anything changes. If nothing is added you will know that it continued to perform well.

Great gun for the smaller sizes.
I have both this gun and the one for the larger sizes. Both are great and make the job a breeze. I tried to get away with having just the bigger higher torque gun and bought a head for the m5 and it worked but it was too troublesome in the long run so when this gun went on sale I snatched it up.

Happy with the product
Great product. I chose this one over a few with larger form factors, as I assumed it would let me get into tighter spaces, which it does. I’ve been using this for installing all kinds of things on a Mercedes Sprinter Van build out and it has performed flawlessly. Directions could be a little more clear but it’s pretty easy to figure out.

Works great use it in an industrial area only downside is the drive bolts are about a 1/4” to short but the arbor is fairly common Allen head had no problems finding the right ones at my local hardware store

Customer support is a 10/10 but unfortunately our shops riv nuts/Plus nuts were slightly longer requiring a longer Mandrel which was very hard to find but it had a great feel and well put together. I had to return it due to the Mandrel which sucks because the alternative was a 700$+ unit. Bunch of us shop guys was hoping it would be long enough.
