Simple Carving Bit for Power Tools
I use this carving bit with an angle grinder. The angle has a ton of power and could be overwhelming to some users. If the wood is not secured well, like in a vise, the angle grinder can have kickback if the user doesn’t have a strong hold of the angle grinder.The product information page shows the carving bit having a diameter of 1.57 inches, but I measured my bit at closer to 2 inches.I have used the bit on various woods. It works best in dry wood with a low moisture content. It handled dry woods like hard oak or soft cedar just fine. Freshly wood from a tree with a high moisture content will gum up the bit faster and not much wood will be removed. I use a brass bristled brush to remove stuck wood in the carving bit’s teeth.
