    What’s not to like?
If you are in the market for a decent little pneumatic die grinder, I think you will like this one. It’s affordable, and does what it’s supposed to do. I’ve put about 20 hours on mine, and it’s still going strong. Make sure to lubricate liberally and often, as you should with many pneumatic tools. It will heat up fast if not lubricated, but operates quite well otherwise.

This is rather tedious and it is also a bit hard on the …
I normally do not take the time to review a product since there are many reviews already but this item is worth a review. I restore carburetors for Porsche cars and after machining operations are completed on the aluminum bodies I soften the sharp edges by hand using manual deburring tools, scrapers and files. This is rather tedious and it is also a bit hard on the hands and elbows. I thought that trying this pencil sized die grinder would be worth the price and in spite of some of the negative reviews I bought one.Short story: Works like a champ! Smooth running and seems to be well made. I use a flow control valve to adjust total air flow to the tool to slow it down a little and with a carbide bit installed it makes my deburring job a lot easier! I do wear ear protection since it does make a high pitched racket which I happily accept for the improvement in my work.I do not have a comment regarding longevity or how robust the grinder is. It does run smoothly and there are no run-out issues like other users have reported.

Be careful with wheels and wire brushes
Got to use this today and decided to see what 50,000 rpm looked like. While just holding it without touching anything my Dremel wire brush immediately went pear-shaped . Good thing it stayed in the chuck otherwise it may have gone suborbital. I don’t think I’ll try anything other than burr tips from now on.Other than that it appears to be good quality and runs great. No instructions on how to oil it except to put it at the inlet port which is at the end of the 3 foot hose. I suppose you could disassemble the housing and put oil directly into the turbine inlets but that seems like a hassle.

    Worth every dollar
Build quality fantastic, power is fantastic, easy to use and very fast with 100% control. Jeep oiled and it’ll last a long time!

Great Little Pencil Grinder for Detail Work
I picked up the NEIKO 10649A Micro Air Die Grinder (1/8″ capacity, 54,000 RPM) for fine deburring and cleanup work in the shop, and it’s quickly become one of those tools you wonder how you worked without. What I like:Slim pencil design — super easy to control for precise workRuns very smooth at speed — minimal vibration, even at 50k+ RPMPerfect for carbide burrs and small abrasive toolsLightweight and comfortable for longer useGreat power for its size — it doesn’t bog down on light metal workI’ve used it for cleaning up edges, removing tiny burrs, smoothing pockets, and general detail work where a full-size die grinder would be overkill. As long as your air system is clean and regulated, this thing runs beautifully.Shop tip:Use a fine-mist oiler and keep your air dry — these high-speed pencil grinders like clean lubrication. If you need a precision air grinder for delicate cleanup, polishing, or light detail machining, this one is a great value for the money. I’d definitely buy it again.

After you have one you won’t be without it.
This little guy makes my life easier. I build knives and primarily use this with carbide burrs to make small adjustments and chamfer pin holes to hardened blades – I also use with sander bits for shaping handles and other detail work. …when I parked the forge under a bar the tool was clamped to I melted the hose and couldn’t find a replacement. Since life without this tool isn’t worth living I replaced it immediately.

    Too much vibration
I didn’t like it. It vibrates and generated a bit too much heat. The cheaper version is better.

    Amazing deal
First u have to oil it! Every day you use it! It is not a turbine grinder it is a pencil grinder! Turbine grinders run dry oil will slow them.. pencil grinders will get hot in hand if not oiled from friction. They will gal and loose rpm permenatly! Dont use a moisture trap u have to oil it! Second if tool or burr runout is so paramount u cant have a .001″ runout u need to have as little bit sticking out as possible if it is not solid carbide or the bit itself can bend and cause vibrations from the speeds. For $40 u will not find a better option. In fact under $175 u wont! This one is better than the blue astro brand because if the hose is cut or burned it can be cut and re installed. The astro is crimped and much more difficult to repair. We use these on hardened die steel daily. Very good but our mind carbide bits spin tru. If u have issues try to re install in the collet at a proper amount of torque. Alternatives are $600 dynabride turbine grinders that run even faster but when u add pressure to the cut they lose speed. Not only that they break doen easy i could see buying one but our shop has about 10 in parts all broke over time. We reused parts from old ones as long as we could. These little pencil grinders can do 98% of yhe jobs. They are really amazing. So often we have to weld and rework the hardened steel in very confined areas no angle grinder could fit. These do the job and do it great. At about 3 hours use per week they last 12-18 months. They still work but are slower. They could be takem apart and renewed with new parts but for $40 why.. the parts will cost over half that alone..

This is identical to the Astro which costs more. Made in Taiwan. Works very well so far. Smooth and speed control is very good. The other reviews of the Astro lead me to believe it will last a long time. Excellent product for the money. With good Burrs it trims metal with great control. Much more versatile than a Dremel.

… An EXCELLENT little tool …. to be used carefully …. very lightweight … particularly good for very light/delicate polishing and or modelling work … very well made … but be careful its not abused … I use it for work that the ‘Dremel’ is too brutal for … I am VERY happy with it.

The product itself is amazing, works great, good quality and has power to it. But when it arrived. It wasn’t packaged in anything. Was on my door step in its box that says what it is with the picture. Just had the shipping label on it. That is upsetting to me because someone walking by could of easily saw what it was and stole it.
