Nifty little thing.
It looks and works just as advertised. Though it takes a few tries to get the button pressing sequence right, once you do, you’re golden. It will stay hot for nine seconds, and it counts down while it does, then shuts off. If you need it to stay on, just press the button again while it’s counting down and the countdown starts over.While I would prefer it stay on constantly, going off when I press the button to turn it off, I do understand the safety and battery issue, and, for the most part, most people probably don’t need it to stay on constantly.This also functions like a cautery pen, so if you have this handy and end up with a deep cut that won’t stop bleeding and you know how to properly cauterize a wound, this will do it. It’s definitely getting hot enough to fry any germs or bacteria, but in a zombie apocalypse, who’s worried about that? This is not medical advice and I am not a medical professional, just someone who is always interested in alternative uses for things.Overall, it’s a good value for the money; I like that it’s small. I’ve used others that are these giant things and they are unwieldy, need batteries, and take up a lot of storage space. This is about as big as a pen and doesn’t need batteries as it’s rechargeable.

Stopped working after one use!
The directions inside the box are incomplete. It states 5 quick clicks in a row turns it on/off. Then it states when on, a quick press of the button changes voltage-that doesn’t work. However, on the outside of the box it states 3 clicks to change voltage-which does work. I was a little confused by the battery charge indicator, which has 2 red bars and 2 green bars. When I plugged it in to make sure to fully charge it, the top green bar was blinking. After a couple minutes the charging indicator turned off. When I pressed the button, the indicator came back on with all the bars showing, which appears to indicate a complete charge. I tested it with some Blue Wax. I had to use the highest setting to melt the wax, and I could see the tip getting red hot while holding the button (it does a 9 second countdown). However, it didn’t take too long before the charge indicator showed less than 50% and it stopped melting wax. I plugged it back in and it stopped charging approximately 45 minutes later showing a complete charge. I went to test what voltage it needed to be to burn some thread, but it no longer produced ANY heat, and it appears to have stopped working after 1 use!

This is a nice little burning pen. It works great for burning into wood and leather. It has a built in battery and recharges by a USB C cable which is included. It’s about the size of a marker and it easy to draw with. It’s very light and feels like drawing with a pen. It gets hot enough to burn into wood. It heats up very fast and gets hot enough to do the job. It held a charge for the 20 minutes I tested it. The fact that it’s not wired makes it feel much more natural to draw with.
