My daughter loves this screwdriver. It’s cute and functional. She loves having her own set of tools. It’s definitely not for tiny tots, as it’s a real (pointy) Philips head inside the tentacles. My four year old is definitely the target audience.

Sadly, this adorable product is more difficult to use than a simple flathead screwdriver…
I have followed Handy Famm since their first (bird) measuring tape. Oddly enough, I never purchased a product until Ollie. Unfortunately, my experience with him has not been good, as I found him impossible to use. Ollie is an adorable octopus, but I couldn’t make him work as a screwdriver.Fortunately, I saw an influencer post about being able to remove the tentacles, which I hoped would help, but the ratcheting mechanism and size made it difficult. I couldn’t even manage to unscrew a light plate. I know I can be clumsy, but I usually don’t struggle to use simple machines.

Very cute and functional! The ratchet setting is a little hard to control with the eye twisting, but it’s great that it’s an option and will be great at actually screwing things together once my daughter gets the hang of it. She’s 2 and always insists on helping whenever we have screwdrivers out (by taking as many as she can hold and refusing to relinquish a single beloved one) so the fact she has her own screwdriver has made her so happy. We store it in her toolbox with her scissors. I really like the guiding tentacles, although they do make it a little hard to see, but overall I think they function well for screwdriver training wheels.Highly recommend this for your own little assistant(s) as a rite of passage. I do question how well the plastic lobster clasp will hold up but that’s not the most important feature here.
