My son LOVES this – good for adventuring
We like the National Geographic brand; we also have the rock tumbler. My 10 year old son got this metal detector for Christmas. He LOVES it, and has taken it in our yard and to a river (where we learned some volcanic rocks have metal in them- so the river was a bust). He hasn’t found anything valuable yet, but has found nails, springs, and a tack pin. 🙂 This is a good way to keep him busy when we’re out adventuring.It was very easy to assemble and easy for him to use. It takes a 9 volt battery, but seems to last a long time.

My grandson loved it! Before coming to visit I buried a few items in the backyard and he had so much fun and was so excited searching & finding lost treasures! Coins, jewelry, and his daddy’s matchbox cars buried and lost for over 20 years (wink, wink!! ☺️)

Great beginner’s metal detector. I love the users manual which has a section on “code of ethics.” Placing/replacing batteries can be a bit challenging, though.

Starter Metal Detector
This starter metal detector is a lot of fun for outdoor adventures! We already found a giant old railroad track wrench, which was super exciting. It’s a bit long for a 5-year-old, but she managed just fine and had a blast exploring.

Great for kids
