Great replica toy!
My son is 18 months and loves this! It looks just like Daddy’s Stihl edger. The sounds are very realistic. When you first hold down the trigger, it makes an engine startup noise for a couple seconds and then it makes a grass cutting noise. When you let go of the trigger, the grass cutting noise stops and the engine noise returns for a second before all noise stops – just like a real edger that is on but not cutting anything. The height is perfect for my son. It probably would be too short for an older child, like a 4 or 5 year old.He also loves the green lights that spin around like the string of a real edger. Plus, it is almost impossible to for him to hurt his older sister or himself with this. If the spinning lights at the bottom hit something, they immediately stop and make a clicking noise to warn the person using it (or his/her mom). Add to that, the spinning lights are encased in a super soft and pliable plastic. It bends easily to the touch and does not spin fast enough to hurt if a body part gets hit with it (as is inevitable with curious toddlers who like to stick little fingers places). To be warned, this is a noisy toy. Definitely would not be an appropriate toy to play with in quiet situations like when a smaller child is napping or Mom’s talking on the phone. But that’s all part of the fun for my little boy.

Great buy
We have had this thing for 8 months now and it is, by far, the most played-with toy for our 2 year old.He has dropped this thing and abused this thing but we have had no issues at all.Very worth the money.

The best little weed eater
2nd time buying one of these for our boys! They love getting to do yard work with Dad. Be wary of getting sand in the spinning part. That’s how our first one broke!

Great toy….just need help with a simple warranty issue.
I gave this toy as a gift to my nephew who is Mr. tool guy…..his favorite trip is to Home Depot, Lowes, etc. He just can’t get enough of the tools. In any case the gift was a huge hit at his birthday party and he has been busy trimming “fictitious:” weeds for 3 days straight. Sadly the batteries started to struggle after the 3rd day. In an attempt to keep the fun alive my brother-in-law tried to replace the batteries in the process and the boss holding the fastener (screw) closing the battery door broke when he attempted to put in new batteries. Without that screw/cover the batteries tend to fall out.I am trying to figure out how to complete a warranty claim but struggling to do so….if anyone has a great idea on how to make that happen I’d appreciate a suggestion. There is an 800 number that I will try in the coming days….I would have given this 5 stars however given the product failure and my struggle to resolve it I picked 4 stars.Great toy! I’d buy it again!

Great for a toddler
Well where can I begin. My 2 year old loves to watch his dad cut the grass so I thought why not. The sound effects are very real. This child, and I kid you not, pressed the trigger all day and night until he fell asleep this happened for 3 days straight. The battery died on the third day…. No problem, with the use it received, I’m surprised those stock batteries didn’t die sooner. We replaced the batteries and the constant grass cutting continued. We couldn’t take it anymore and eventually secretly removed the batteries. There are conflicting reviews so I guess it’s the luck of the draw with this toy. It is well built, and sturdy enough. One problem is that it is on the very very short side. I would say it is for a toddler only. With constant use it’s still working but the blade light had gone a little dim and the speaker sounds a little scratchy. With those issues I would still recommend. I’ve never seen a little boy so happy even though it almost driver me crazy. It’s a toy, don’t expect too much And you will be fine.

Great gift for littlest that love outdoor stuff
My little one follows his daddy around when he’s mowing or cleaning up the yard. With this, he now plays with it around the house, and loves that it makes sound and actually spins. As a mom I was concerned that he may hurt himself with the spinning part but he has spun it on his face multiple times and it has a nice mechanism that stops and did not cause injury. It makes a sound very similar to the real thing and it lights up and he will carry it around where we go. Definitely recommend

Cheap!
Not impressed. No matter how tight the shaft is it still rotates. Cheap!

Fantastic and realistic. My two and four year old both love it. It’s sized perfectly for my 2yo and he’s thrilled to be able to ‘help out’ with one more yard chore. The realistic sound is not too loud or obnoxious. The spinning bar meant to replicate the cutting string lights up as it spins. A great toy.

Very realistic and fun toy for a kid that is amazed by such things. My nephew is 2.5 yrs and loves it.. drives his parents mad as the thing is as realistic sounding as a real weed whacker in the living room but that’s what aunties are for hehe!
