A Clear and Encouraging Start for beginner Canva Creators
Canva For Beginners delivers on exactly what it promises: a simple guide for those new to graphic design or just starting with Canva. As a woman engineer who values both form and function, I found this book to be an encouraging and helpful stepping stone. It is for individuals who might feel intimidated by digital design platforms. The book breaks down Canva’s tools in a way that’s easy to understand, even for complete beginners. The step-by-step structure and logical progression make it feel like you’re building skills with each chapter. I appreciated the tone: it’s friendly, motivating, and doesn’t assume prior design knowledge. The screenshots and practical tips help take the guesswork out of using the platform. While it covers the basics thoroughly, it could benefit from exploring real-world projects or more advanced features like brand kits, collaboration tools, or animation. A few case studies or sample design challenges would also help readers see how to apply what they’ve learned creatively or professionally. This is a solid beginner’s guide for anyone curious about Canva or looking to make their own flyers, social media graphics, or presentations. It makes the world of design feel accessible and even fun. With a bit more content for intermediate users, it could easily evolve into a go-to reference book.

A bit long winded at the beginning, but good
I skipped through most of the Introduction since it was mainly a history lesson on Canva. But once I got into the meat of the book, I did appreciate the amount of knowledge it contained, and how it was presented. It’s also illustrated in full color, which is nice. Step by step instructions break down everything you need to do from creating an account to deciding whether you want to spring for the pro plan.I did, however choose to dock one star for the filler at the front. It took up (according to my Kindle) 17% of the book. Thats a fair sized chunk considering I can’t actually use it.

    Concise Introduction to Canva
I was surprised to discover the software’s capabilities after only using Canva for birthday and Christmas cards. Access to certain functions depends on whether you have a Pro account, but it may be worth the investment if you’re a serious content creator. These functions include image and video creation with AI help. There is also a stock library with over 100 million high-quality photos, audio tracks, and graphics. You can create social media posts and marketing materials for all the major platforms. There’s also expert advice on using colors and typography to highlight your personal brand, along with creating animations and presentations.Canva also has a content planner and an analytics function built in. This book was a quick and concise read, which I will go through again with the software open so I can gain some hands-on experience. Definitely recommended.

Definitely a smart pick for anyone eager to explore Canva
I absolutely loved diving into Canva For Beginners! From the very first chapter, it’s clear this guide was crafted with someone like me in mind. Someone curious but cautious about design, but could turn an image I created of a train wreck into a train wreck into itself! The step-by-step instructions are spot-on: clear, approachable, and sprinkled with practical exercises that actually help concepts stick. I found myself breezing through what used to feel intimidating, such as layering images or aligning text, and before I knew it, I was creating basic designs with fun and confidence. What stood out to me were the insider tips. Those little things that save you from common missteps and give your projects a professional edge. The tone is friendly and encouraging, never overwhelming, which made learning enjoyable. By the end, I felt like I wasn’t just following along, I was creating. Whether you’re starting from scratch or brushing up on design basics, this book provides you with the confidence and tools to bring your ideas to life, a wise choice for anyone eager to explore Canva and truly enjoy the experience.

Offers a solid foundation for canva
Speaking as someone a few months into using canva regularly, I was pleasantly surprised to still be able to learn a few things from this book: content planner, how to get recommended color palettes for my brand, publishing designs straight onto social media from canva, the use of grid lines and basic design guidelines like the 80/20 rule. I just want to throw it out there for everyone that Canva very recently rolled out a huge update called canva 2.0 that added a ton more cool features like sheets and different design types within a file and and these were the features I was hoping to read about but sadly were not included in this book. With that said, this was a great book and I look forward to a future edition that would include all these awesome features.

    Finally Understanding Canva
I really enjoyed this book, and that surprised me in the best way. I’ve been wanting to learn how to use the Canva app properly, but most guides either move too fast or assume you already know more than you do. This one felt like it met me right where I was.The book is put together in a clear, logical way that makes learning feel easy instead of overwhelming. Each section builds on the last, so nothing feels rushed or confusing. The explanations are straightforward, and the steps are simple enough to follow along as you go.What I appreciated most is that it focuses on practical use. It shows you how to actually create things you’d want to make, not just where the buttons are. By the end, Canva felt far less intimidating and much more useful. This is exactly the kind of guide I’ve been looking for. I’ll be putting it to good use, and I can see myself coming back to it whenever I need a refresher or want to try something new.

Almost everyone has heard of Canvas, but not everyone dares to use this useful app, thinking it must be complex and difficult to learn. This is precisely where this book offers an entertaining and simple way to take the first steps in Canvas. It is true that it lacks additional videos that could have been offered as complements to the text, but overall, the book meets its objectives and specifies in its title that it is for beginners.

  12. Amazon Customer

This book offers a very helpful overview for beginners. It contrasts the value of Canva compared with other more advanced design tools, showing how this is the perfect tool for design for anyone just starting out. It covers features that are available in the pro and free versions, making the information useful for both types of users. The chapters that follow share information on all the main different types of formats that Canva offers. There are tips about design and features that will also be useful for intermediate users or those looking to use Canva for small business or social media purposes. There is a lot of good information without getting bogged down in details; it will serve as a useful reference when exploring new features. Highly recommended!
