I bought this as a required text book for a community college class I took on Photoshop. The class was a requirement for me, but I could’ve learned as much with just the book, without spending a few hundred dollars on the class. If you just want to learn to use Photoshop, you can do it with just the book, and maybe a few YouTube videos. No classes needed.

Required for a class
I need this as the textbook for a class I’m taking this semester. Much better and less expensive on the Kindle where I can annotate and highlight, lookup words in the dictionary, set bookmarks, copy material with the citation included, and always to back to where I stopped reading or any bookmark or page number.

Not the best book for beginners
I have the same version of this book for Illustrator, so I knew what to expect. This book is a little complicated for beginners in Photoshop, but once you have a grasp of the basics, this is a great reference.

I bought this because my professor recommended everyone to get it but I felt like the only one who actually did and I never needed it for that class or any other that I used Photoshop in (during my time at PSU) because the professors always gave out exact instructions and if I needed help YouTube had plenty of tutorials.

However, after less than 1 weeks use, the cover binding let go and the book split, so that the pages are starting to fall out … not happy with this!
