Don’t be fooled by the exam prep description. Great overall tutorial
This is the textbook for an Advanced Digital Imaging Class I’m taking. It’s a good start to finish tutorial on Photoshop with an electronic version included and exercise files available. I’m sure it’s great for exam prep but overall, it doesn’t feel like a “pass the test” book. The accompanying videos are relaxed and the instructor has a very easy to like style. I ordered used. Arrived 4 business days after ordering with 7 days remaining on estimated arrival. Book was represented as Good. In fact, it is indiscernible from new at 1/4th the price. Couldn’t be more pleased.

The content of this book does establish fundamentals that I’d missed from having learned Photoshop via trial and error plus the excellent “Classroom-In-A-Book” and Corey Barker “Down and Dirty Tricks” books.And those fundamentals are well worth knowing whether one is seeking entry-level employment, an A.C.A. accreditation or simply a creative pastime. So 4-Stars for that. BUT please be warned that the way in which the book conveys the knowledge is excruciatingly patronizing; speaking down in a way that only the very worst schoolteachers or other closeted grown-ups might do.I also add from my experience with the book that, contrary to what the author indicates, I was able to completely learn all of the practical content without ever needing to view any of the videos. That said, the still images provided were generous in quantity and well-chosen. Also, the Level-Up Challenges were very empathetic of a student’s needs, particularly those that encouraged basic creativity in artistic expression and visual design.All positive values which offset being addressed in the book as if one was a member of some alien permanently infantile species.
