Good buy.
It’s a little challenging to use with thick cardboard, and takes a little getting used to, but it works well. My 10 year old enjoyed getting to cut all of his project pieces out completely on his own. It’s much safer than a box cutter (obviously) and much easier on our hands than trying to use scissors on cardboard. This one is a lot cheaper than ones I’ve found elsewhere. Our book fair projects are done. Now my kid is having fun making cut out cars and anything else he can think of.

👁️ Creative and Safe, but Very Loud and Best for Older, Highly Creative and Patient Kids
✅ Practical Testing and Honest ImpressionsThis kid-focused cardboard cutter has a fun, friendly design and feels thoughtfully built with safety in mind. Setup is simple, and the power cord stores neatly inside the unit, which keeps everything tidy when not in use. The rocker switch on the back is large and easy to operate, and the front drawer must be fully closed for the machine to turn on, adding an extra layer of safety. In use, it cuts standard corrugated cardboard reasonably well, but it struggles with very thin, very soft, or very thick pieces. The loudness was the biggest surprise. It is much louder than expected and has the sound profile of a small power tool, which could be intimidating for some kids. My eyes lit up a bit when I first turned it on.While marketed for ages 5+, I found that younger children may struggle with intentional shaping, measuring, and structured builds. It feels better suited to older kids who have more patience and coordination.✏️ What to Know in 30 Seconds• Designed for ages 5+• Includes machine, AC power cord, and 3 practice cardboard sheets• Internal cord storage compartment• Safety interlock drawer must be closed to operate• Large rear rocker power switch• Top board includes printed measurement guides and angle markings• Works best with standard corrugated cardboard📝 Design and BuildThe body is plastic but feels fairly durable and stable during use. Safety shielding prevents access to internal cutting components. The measurement guides printed on the top surface are helpful for basic angles and circles, encouraging more precise builds.🧐 Practical UseFor simple cuts like ramps, panels, or straight edges, it performs well with decent cardboard. More complex designs require patience, creativity, and a good understanding of measurements. Younger children may need supervision or assistance. Noise level is significant and worth noting.⭐️ Advantages• Strong safety features with automatic shutoff• Clean cord storage design• Encourages creativity and hands-on building• Measurement guides add educational value⚠️ Considerations• Very loud during operation• Plastic build may feel less premium• Limited included materials• Works best only with certain cardboard types• Younger children may struggle despite 5+ labeling✅ Best ForOlder kids who enjoy building projects, STEM-style creativity, and working with cardboard under supervision.📌 In ConclusionThis cardboard cutter blends safety and creativity in a unique way. It feels thoughtfully designed and performs well with the right materials, but the high noise level and age recommendation feel slightly mismatched. It delivers moderate overall value based on performance, safety design, and durability, though expectations should be aligned with the type of projects and the child’s skill level. Considering the premium cost relative to its plastic construction, perceived value will depend largely on the user’s standards and intended use.⭐ Star Rating★★★★☆ (3.5)Honest, detailed, and unbiased reviews ensure that every purchase may be completed with confidence. This feedback is based on real experience, offering clear insights to help consumers make informed decisions.

Not for precision cutting but as advertised
Great little addition to the workshop for building models and quick mock ups.

Easy and safe to use—a 6 year old can do it!
My 6 year old loves this cardboard cutter! She understood how to use it very quickly and I love that it’s safe for her to use and won’t cut her. She really enjoys making things with cardboard and other materials around the house. We have used this cutter to also make a piñata! So much fun!

kid friendly
my kids love it. its great for growing dexterity and creativity. it is a bit on the loud side especially if you have it on a hollow wood surface like a table or wood flooring. i have a foam mat i set ours on to absorb the vibration and noise so its nicer to use for the kids. on other small complaint is that the power switch seems to be upside down or backwards. the “I” turns it off and the “O” turns it on. not a big deal but can be a bit confusing. its also a bit on the pricey side for what it is, but its a fun way to repurpose all those cardboard boxes we accumulate for online orders

Kid-Safe Electric Cardboard Cutter
I picked this up for my 5-year-old son since he is obsessed with building things out of boxes, and it has been a total game-changer for his “engineering” projects. The quality and safety features are what really sold me—the blade system is fully enclosed, so I don’t have to hover over him every second. It gives him the independence to cut through cardboard on his own, which has been a huge boost for his confidence. The functionality is perfect for a STEM-focused toy. It’s powerful enough to handle thick cardboard but designed specifically for small hands to operate safely. It’s very easy to use. It’s turned our recycling bin into a treasure trove for DIY projects, from robot armor to forts. It’s a great eco-friendly way to keep him busy for hours. In terms of reliability, the tool feels sturdy and well-built, and it comes with a 1-year warranty and 24/7 support, which is a nice safety net for a kids’ power tool. It’s much safer than a box cutter or even heavy-duty scissors, making it an essential for any young creator’s toolkit at a great price.

Great toy but not sturdy at all!!
Got this for my 4 year old grandson. We cut for about 15 minutes and then removed the dust drawer to empty it and the unit never worked again. I’m sending it back for a replacement because my grandson really loved in, when it worked.
