well made
Every once in a while, you get more than you expect when you order something, and this trimmer is one of them. Afraid it would be a little weak and cheaply made, but that wasn’t the case at all! Very strong, well made, long straight shaft, and well balanced. Cuts like a pro and love the variable speed to save battery. Love it, thanks so much!

Lightweight, quiet, powerful. True variable speed trigger.
Pleasantly surprised by this trimmer. It is lightweight and the power even on slow speed is very good. I like that the variable speed trigger really does control the speed variably. There are two speed settings. The low speed setting maxes out the top speed to a lower rpm. They said it is perfectly balanced. It’s not but almost. It’s still a little nose heavy which makes it not as easy to use had it been perfectly balanced. The charge time is rather slow. My makita battery charges in 30 minutes. This battery probably takes a couple hours just a guess. After using it for about 10 min on minimum speed the battery level still shows full. For my needs for minimum trimming of a small yard it I am happy with it. Had the balance been perfect I would have given it 5 stars.

Why counter clockwise direction on trimmer head??
Absolutely love this trimmer with one exception. I amRight handed and the head spins counterclockwise. Throws debris back towards me. I understand this is the standard these days but I am giving the product a 4 out of 5 stars for this reason only. I would still however recommend the trimmer. It has a great build quality and is as powerful as my previous gas trimmer that lasted about 7 years. Hope this one lasts as well!

Fine but not great
This trimmer is a bit of a mixed bag. On balance, it is totally usable but I do have some notes:- Balance: the motor is in the head of the trimmer, and not in the body like every other battery trimmer I’ve used. This makes it very front-heavy which I am not used to. However, I got used to it very quickly in use, and I might even prefer it. The weight seems to smooth out movements, and I felt like I had a better sense of what the head was doing.- Power: it has “sufficient” power. It uses thin line and doesn’t spin as fast as a gas trimmer or even my Ryobi 18V brushless one, but thin line and lower speed is still sufficient for trimming stray blades of grass.- Battery life: I was able to trim my whole property, with only a few horizontal obstacles (fire hydrant, telephone pole, rock wall) and a bunch of vertical faces (cut edges on garden beds, several hundred feet worth). However, the one battery did NOT have enough juice to trim along the whole curb as well..it cut out just under half way through. It usually takes 2 full 4ah 18v batteries on my Ryobi trimmer, so that wasn’t surprising. But the difference is that I have a bunch of battery Ryobi tools, so I always have an extra battery to swap in and haven’t make that investment into Worx batteries. It also looks like Worx changes their battery shape frequently, so I’d be wary of buying soon-to-be-obsolete batteries that won’t work in any other tools.- Bump feed: this straight up never worked well for me. Spinning at full speed, it would take several strong whacks on the pavement to get it to feed out more line.- Size: it feels overly long to me. I had to kind of “choke up” on it in a way I don’t have to on other trimmers.- Flexibility: this is only a string trimmer, it does not support other accessories like an edger, pole saw, or hedge trimmer. You might want to instead invest in a power head that can take attachments, so you can get multiple functions for less.

Great Trimmer, Awful Manual
I’d give this trimmer five star if it came fully assembled with a half way decent manual or if there was a Youtube video but alas, neither were available. The intallation manual was absolutely terrible. The first page had a fully assembled trimmer with numbers assigned to different areas of the trimmer. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the components or the names for them anuwhere near the picture. You need to go past all the poorly done assembly pictures to a section called “Table of Contents” to get the names for the components, but still no individual pictures. I ended up with this hard rubber rectangle that was in the box but have no idea what it was for.Had they done the manual properly, the table of contents should have been the first thing you find in the manual. I didn’t even find the table of contents until have way thru the pictures.Things you need to know. First, you put the two parts of the shaft together. Here the picture was helpful because there was a note to “Remove the tube plug” that was in the handle portion. What they didn’t tell you was how to het the handle portion over the trimmer head section. It wouldn’t slide over it easily. Experience had a bottle of vasoline in my garage and I coated up the trim head shaft which enabled be to get the two parts together.Next was putting the handle on where they provided three useless pictures but you should have fount a small cloth bag that has a bolt and a plastic headed nut to attach the handle to the shaft. The shield for the trimmer was easy. Two screws already in place for the shield. Unscrew and screw back in wqith the shield in place. So we’ve gotten thru steps A thru C, at least in the eyes of the documenter. Now we come to step D, which should have been step A. For some reason, in two pictures, they show you how to put the battery on and take the battery off the trimmer. The next two show you how to do the same with the charger. Those two pictures should have been A1 and A2 since the battery come completely dead. I checked the charge on the battery first so I had a head start on the charging process but I’m pretty sure they send these out needing an initial charge. It took quite a while for thje battery to be ready for testing. The rest probably would be straightforward if your trimmer head arrives intact as I’m sure was intended. Mine did not. The bump head was detached from the rest of the trimmer housing and the line was a tangled mess. Rather than explaining what had to be done, just go on Youtube to find how to install line into your Worx trimmer, if you’ve never done one. Hopefully you won’t have the same issue.I’m a bit disappointed that it uses 2mm line. The gas powered trimmer I’m replacing used 2.7mm and I have a good amount of it here. I’ll probably see if it will feed into the head and reduce the amount of string I load on the spool but I’m guessing that won’t work.Other than the install process, I love this trimmer. It’s so much lighter than gas, even my girlfriend can handle it. I doubt I’ll need a second battery but plenty are available.
