Mixed Quality and Results
These tools are nice, but lack consistency in operation. The screw gun has difficulty handling harder stud lumber such as pressure treated pine or douglas fir, which are common in the northern US and for basement furring strips. It also is inconsistent on the depth during finish of the screw driving. The cutout tool seems difficult to master, but I keep working with it.

Smart Feature = Point of Failure
This would be a fine screw driver set, well-made. Good battery system, but not significantly better than any other imported-from-china competitor. The deal breaker here is a feature that they don’t tell you about online:This is a SMART Screw Driver.What does that mean? Simply, the drive shaft won’t engage and the screw driver won’t operate unless the onboard computer ‘senses’ a screw with enough weight behind it. In other words, you, the human are no longer capable of judging when to you the tool, and the tool is completely useless unless it detects JUST right. I’ll leave you to guess what happens when this sensor fails. That’s right…I sent it back. I don’t need this most basic of tools ‘thinking’ for me for my own safety.

What can I say. Dewalt has never let me down.Bought this combo for a basement bedroom project and could not be happier. Both units function as they should, the battery life was great for the drywall screw gun lasting all day, but the drywall cutting tool eats them fast. Fortunately I have quite a few batteries to swap.They are very easy to use, size and weight are fine even with batteries.Great deal!
