I’m a PA student and needed an otoscope/ophthalmoscope for our physical diagnosis course. this is a super affordable and good quality otoscope and opthalmoscope kit. the light is bright and focused and it’s very easy to operate. my friends from class borrow it often because it’s better quality than theirs. easy to use, fits with standard otoscope covers, and the case is very protective and makes it easy to transport.

Ophthalmoscope is useless
I purchased this kit in July since it was needed for school but have not had a true opportunity to test the kit until recently. First of all, I am missing lens replacement bulbs that the kit stated it would come with. Secondly, the light on ophthalmoscope is super bright that my “patient” complains that it’s too bright. There is not way to dim it, so I have yet to use it properly since the light is too discomforting. Thirdly, the viewfinder on the ophthalmoscope appears to be acrylic that is not very clear. It’s not foggy nor does it appear to be scratched, but rather seems to me to be of poor acrylic material that should otherwise be crystal clear to view the inner eye. If I had had a chance to test this kit out from the moment I received it, I definitely would have returned it for a refund as I do not feel it is worth over $200. The ophthalmoscope is useless to me and will only serve as an “ornament” for check-offs by professor to show that I have the required materials. I am out over $200 but will still need to find a replacement ophthalmoscope because I have to be able to visualize what I am learning and to visualize in order to diagnose. I gave this 2 stars only because at least I have a functioning otoscope that I dont have any issues with.

Don’t bother buying
I bought this for work. I’m 2 months past when I can return and the otoscope light will not turn off via the switch. I’m sure the battery will soon die and I’ll replace and see if I can get the switch off. In the mean time I’ve ordered a different brand.

This product does not feel good in my hand. It is made of plastic and has a cheap feel to it. The price point is good if you are a student. The set does work. My set was obviously used before even though it should have been new. I am returning. I would rather put the money towards a better quality set.

Accessible
I love the look of the Oto/Ophthalmoscope and the uniqueness of its color choices that makes it stand out from the rest. The reason I gave a 4 star was that it was supposed to come with 2 replaceable lamps but there were none in my case. Also, I didn’t like the case itself. I felt it should have been a bit more modern and the inside should have had a sponge-like casing to place the scopes in. Other than that I love how light it is.

Light does not shut off
Bought this for a seldom used room in our office and with very little use the light has ceased turning off. Have to remove the batteries now each time after use. Really liked it when we bought it, although won’t even use now as not worth the effort. Should have gone with a more reliable brand to start with!
