This microphone just makes everything easy. The old screw driver truck works fine but it’s a lot better when you can isolate noises with the earphones.

Air leaks
I’m sure this is a solid tool for engine work, but I’m a diesel tech and needed it to find air leaks. I messaged to ask if it would work and never really got a clear answer, so I bought it to try. Unfortunately, it picked up just about every noise except the air leak I was chasing.

Had an A/C leak at the compressor and was about to order a new compressor. Then, I bought this and found it was leaking from a high pressure bleed off valve on the hose at the back. This located it exactly, using it without the metal rod, just the rubber opening. You can isolate air leaks! You could probably find the leak in a tire if the leak was big enough to make any sound at all. You do need a quite few minutes because it picks up any sound in the air without the metal rod inserted.

The thing works great ! I use it to locate bad bearings and pumps .my only complaint, the headphones are JUNK! I had to buy another set to use because the ones provided are so cheap .

Fast shipping, fair price. Would definitely buy again from this company. Neat little tool to have in the arsenal, might work too good for what I need. Im trying to find an elusive leak in the ac system on my car. Saw a video where a guy used this and found out the valve stem was leaking. I tried it at 11:30 when I got home tonight and it really amplified the crickets and the cars on the highway. I’ll mess with it more when I have time. So far though it’s pretty cool. I’d recomend it.
