The best scanner in this price range
This is my go to scanner, the first thing I pull out of the drawer when diagnosing something. I previously had an older model that only cleared codes and did live data, but upgraded to this one to take advantage of the new features.Starting off, this unit is touchscreen which is a really nice addition, and it gets plenty bright.With the auto detect feature, plugging it into the vehicle automatically pulls the vin, and then scans all the modules and creates a report you can save for yourself, or send to a customer in a pinch thanks to its wifi capabilites.This scanner also features heavily needed functions for today’s modern vehicles, such as parking brake maintenance mode, ABS bleeding, and battery maintenance reset. I find myself using it for these functions multiple times a week. Been using the launch CRP123X V2.0 Elite scanner for a week now and it’s a great tool scanning every car I’ve been working on recently with no problems this is a great DIY tool with no complaints does resets and relearns and also SRS systems overall a great tool for the price auto VIN detection also good reliable speed for scanning vehicles

I have LAUNCH scanners specific to Mercedes and really like them. They are extremely functional and provide more capability than expected for the price. I tried the CRP123X, and it does cover virtually all makes and models. However, the scans cover only basic modules unless you unlock your specific car brand with an annual subscription. This is a little misleading for me.In my case, scanning my car I know that there are 58 modules detected by using the Mercedes-specific scanner, but the CRP123X will only report on 8 or 9 modules unless I purchase a subscription.My advice is to get the version of LAUNCH Creader scanner specific to your vehicle. If you have a different brand, you can always add a subscription for your other car brand through the Mall.

1/27/26 This is a diagnostic tool dwith programming for most vehicles sold in the US. What it really is, is nothing more than a glorified code reader. A code is a starting point and nothing more. If you see a part in the code description and you buy that part you very easily can find out the part was NOT the cause of the code. This tool has some features that may be helpful, but not many. This tool is one that launch does NOT sell in the US for that reason. My fault for assuming otherwise.

Useful Scanner
I am not real knowledgeable when it comes to scanners that aren’t the hand held type. but after using this so far I’m pleased. It seems reasonably easy to run. You do have to be a little patient for some responses, but nothing you should not expect at this price range. Like I said earlier about these scanners are a ” step up ” for me and was user friendly. I needed a unit that read air bag and impact sensor problem lights. it read a couple codes that I was already aware of, and the accuracy seems good, and it updated with no problems, good scanner.

Paid for new, received used.
So far, the product does what it is supposed to, except for when you have to wipe it of someone else’s info and email so you can actually set it up for yourself. It looks like someone bought this to check out a Honda then returned it and it was resold but no one bothered to make sure it wasn’t used first lol. Thankfully, I was able to find the reset to factory option since I could not find where to update the email address that it sends your results to after a scan. Pretty sure Honda owner doesn’t care about my Ford 🤣 I’ve only used it once with no other issues than that and it was easy enough to work with. It feels pretty solid in the hand and the case is nice. I’m just a bit annoyed to pay new prices and not receive a new item.

What a great value! No initial paywall out of the box to get a job done!
I bought this to replace my Actron CP9145 that I bought in 2003 and have been using up until 2025. I’m not a fan of paywalls and this unit comes out of the box with everything you need to reset stuff after replacements of an O2 sensor or ABS sensors or battery reset along with a boat load of other features that work without having to pay extra for the features. I hope I get the same duration of usage out of this as I did from my USA made Actron unit. Also, this uses two 18650 cells in 1P2P configuration, if you end up with a bad pack. And remember the 40-80 Rule with LiIon packs, store this unit with 50% charge and the pack will last long enough to never worry about it.
