Works great on a 2016 international a26. Reads the check engine and fault codes to see whats going on and can clear the check engine light. Also force a regen where as my toggle switch has NEVER worked from the international factory. So all in all well worth the money

Saved Us a Trip to the Shop
My brother works on a lot of different semis and this scanner did great on one of the Volvos he was chasing problems on. Plugged it in, paired it, and we were able to pull codes and narrow things down instead of just guessing. The DPF regen function worked like it should and helped us clear things up without parking the truck at a shop for who knows how long. For the price, it’s an excellent tool to keep in the truck or toolbox handy. Definite recommend from me!

I’ve been shopping around with my business partner to purchase a Volvo truck, but we have had trouble finding one that meets our requirements.I was able to find a model I liked, but using this reader I was able to determine the specifications the seller was listing were not accurate. There’s certain things that can be hidden, but not from a scanner like this. I used it with the Ancel app and was able to read the stats of the truck. I could see code history which is what I was most interested in.I have experience with other Ancel scanners and have a great appreciation for them. They work as advertised and I find often have a broader compatibility than they advertise.

I ordered this for my cousin, who has been a commercial diesel truck driver for years. He got super excited, and he now carries the HD120 with him all the time. His truck has an International engine (A26) that works great, but it is getting on with higher mileage. The scanner is very portable and high quality; the connection to a smartphone was simple and painless. The lifetime software support and updates are two bonus features that Ancel does better than others. This scanner can also serve as a standard OBD2 scanner for trucks, which he helped his friend, who owns a truck with the Frightliner DD15 engine for some general code reading (DFP regen not compatible with this engine, only HD110 does). Overall, this is a must-have for any truck driver on the road with a compatible engine!

I grabbed this to add to my little suite of diagnostic tools, replacing a cheapo generic OBD dongle which only worked with a very limited and glitchy app. The ancel works a lot better and does not require any in app purchase or subscriptions. The hardware isn’t anything fancy, just a “black box” with the two interfaces on each end, and has been plug and play.A big selling point of the Ancel is the lifetime updates including code database and firmware upgrades. I will say that the updates are a bit slow, at least initially out of the box. I assume the process will be a lot quicker going forward. I also like the suite of Volvo/international-specific functionality, which is something you don’t get on a generic scantool.Functionally it does a good job reading codes, and clearing the codes works well as do the realtime monitors. The software does have some slightly-odd translations but nothing that makes it difficult to use.Overall it’s an excellent futureproof scantool with a ton of functionality. Thumbs up.

Excellent diagnostic tool that has the potential of saving one long and costly trip to the shop.The scanner is bluetooth connected and can easily be stored nearby. It offers clear and fast, real-time diagnostic on all the major truck brands. It can perform a DPF regen quickly and safely.It offers diagnostics for all the major systems in the truck. It does take a bit of trial and error to operate it correctly, the interface could be smoother – but for the price and if you’re not fussy about it and you’re willing to learn, this tool is more than enough for peace of mind on long trips.
