Cost is about the same as 1 diagnostic with dealer
Purchased for myself to diagnose my BMW and to reset certain things. Works perfect.Have loaned it out to friends and co-workers for use with other vehicles.Easy to use easy to diagnose and reset oil after change , register new battery , reset break pressure after new install.Definitely recommend instead of paying the high price of a dealer diagnostic.Cost is about the same as 1 diagnostic with dealer and you can keep using with all the free future updates.

    Great code reader.
This was an awesome code reader. The Bluetooth worked great and was an easy setup. You do need to register. Unfortunately I was looking for some Toyota specific reset and this was unable to do it. Other than that, this was a great product.

DOES NOT work for all the vehicles
Just an update, have since tried using it for my 2005 Dodge ram pick up and it does not do anything on that either. Spend some money on a quality product. Not thrilled. I bought this tool specifically to use on my 2003 Cummins and even though it claims it works with all makes and models, it will not work on that truck. I will use it on other vehicles down the road… Provided it will work on them.

Foxwell NT809BT OBD2 – Saves the day and money
This was a really helpful tool to diagnose mine and my friends cars. I can read out much moore with this tool than with the previous ones that used. You can activate different functions to see that they ok or not.

    Works well
I have 2 Merecedes and a BMW. The dealership charges $204 just for diagnostics to tell us what is wrong with the car. This tool saves lots of money. I can get the codes and then read them, and it sends me to google to state what the cause could be. I have used it four times and it has worked every time.

    Fantabulous scanner
Great scanner. A must have for any DIY’er. Easy set up and quick connect to WiFi and Bluetooth.

I have just spent the last few weeks trying the FOXWELL NT809BT diagnostic scanner, this is my 3rd Foxwell diagnostic device test and I must say that while all of my previous tests were very positive in experience, this NT809BT is truly impressive.Though I am not a mechanic by trade, I have been working around cars for 40 years, and in terms of diagnostic tools, this is one of the most powerful that I have used to date. I definitely consider this to be a professional grade tool. This is a bidirectional, all systems scanner that hosts an extensive selection of functions as well as over 30 dealerships level resets. The scanner is extremely well made, rugged, and is easy to use. It runs on Android 9 and features a sleek and intuitive interface that makes it a pleasure to use.My experience to date is that this scanner seems to easily pickup engine diagnostic codes as well as SRS and ABS codes. We even managed to come across an engine code on a buddy’s truck, and we weren’t even poking down into that hole. I also find code retrieval to be very quick on this unit. The best reason for buying this scanner or any other bidirectional unit is the fact that you can access and control systems and components directly, giving you the ability to activate or shut down any numbers of systems.Bluetooth connectivity makes this scanner a real pleasure to use. The freedom from cable just makes everything easier. The display on this scanner is next level compared to others that I have used to date. It is large, bright, and crisp with high levels of contrast, which makes reading this screen an absolute pleasure. Even high-level light environments are no match for this screen. With over 150 manufacturers in the data base as well as vehicle profiles for the North American, European, and Asian markets, working with both OBD2 and CAN protocols, this scanner covers a whole lot of ground. This scanner is absolutely fantastic, and my buddies agree. The price tag might scare away a casual user and I would argue that this scanner is way more than a casual user would ever need but if you are looking for the build quality and functionality that this device offers, then they money becomes more justified. This is a time saver and comprehensive tool for your car or light truck.100% Recommended!

I recently ordered this diagnostic scanner for personal use on my older style vehicle. It arrived promptly and was well packaged. Included in the box is the scanner, USB-C charging cable, a VBCI dongle, the users manual as well as a quick start guide. As the owner of an older VW Beetle, I’ve been looking for one of these for quite some time. In addition, Beetles are known for constantly throwing check engine codes etc. etc. This scanner is about the size of a small tablet with a 7″ HD touch screen. It has a 1GB memory with a 32GB hard drive.Prior to initial use, I fully charged the scanner using the included USB-C cable. The lithium battery is rated at 4,000mAh. Prior to use, you have to create an account and register the device (free) which is all done directly on the scanner itself. After this step is completely, it will check for any software updates automatically. The device connects via bluetooth with a 65 foot range and you can freely move around the vehicle while holding the tablet and aren’t restricted to the OBDI port, I love that feature!! When you’re ready to run diagnostics, plug the VCI dongle into the OBDI port on your vehicle and then to start diagnosis, you can either choose “automatic” which scans your VIN or “manual” by selecting your car make/model etc. This is basically the same type of scanner my mechanic uses. It supports full OBD2 scanning provides full diagnostics for issues ranging from coolant levels, RPM, battery status, engine, transmission, O2 and more and you can read and clear codes right on the device. This is a great tool that is well priced and a huge money saver especially if you have an older vehicle that is prone to throwing codes. It supports a wide array of vehicles I had no issues whatsoever connecting it to my 2007 VW Beetle. I especially love that it covers pretty much every aspect of your vehicle providing information in a clear, concise manner and doesn’t require you to download an app/multiple apps – that often require purchasing – in order to benefit from the full features & functionality. Very impressed, highly recommend this!!!!

The first thing I did was perform updates on this scanner. We live in a rural area and are unable to get high speed internet service, so we use a mobile hotspot. The scanner would not recognize the iPhone we use, nor would it “see” the phone when the hotspot details were entered manually. I enabled my Galaxy S12 hotspot and the scanner picked it up immediately. I guess it doesn’t like Apple, or maybe because it’s LTE. The updates didn’t take that long at all, but that will depend on your internet speed of course. It will also depend on whether you choose to download the available updates for all makes/models or just certain ones. I performed all updates, and then updated jut certain makes a couple of weeks later.I own a 2015 Nissan Rogue SV AWD with 169000m. I’m having no issues with the vehicle, but I wanted to use this scanner to check for any potential issues, as well as record a baseline status. I intend to scan monthly. The vehicle is maintained and serviced regularly at a Nissan dealership that I used to work at.I used to use handheld code readers, which meant plugging it in to the OBD port under the dash and the working at floor level because of the short cord length. The wireless capabilities of this device eliminate that and allow freedom of movement! To begin, I needed to select my vehicle. Once that was done, the VIN has to be entered. I tried using the “Smart VIN” feature, but this wouldn’t read my VIN, so I had to enter it manually. When testing, the battery voltage is monitored and displayed.I wanted to select different control modules and select specific testing modules, but I kept getting a “no communication” to check of the scan tool was correctly connected to the vehicle, that the ignition was turned on and that the battery was fully charged. I had to use the quick scan feature. This pulled up a number of failures; it also tested features that the vehicle is not equipped with. The failures were all past codes, so I was able to clear them and retest, with no faults found. I saved this report and will use it as my baseline test for comparison going forward.I am not a technician so there is a lot for me to learn. One thing I will use it for is monitoring an intermittent O2 sensor DLC that randomly cause a check engine light to come on. The shop tells me this is nothing to worry about until there is a solid failure. It came up a couple of time last year, but hasn’t reappeared since. So I am generally happy with this scanner, although there are quirks that I will continue to see if I can work around. It’s mainly for a general auto shop to test and diagnose faults on different makes/models, but it’s good for a do-it-yourself-er to use and learn from. I didn’t find the manual all that great. I wasn’t sure if testing should be done with the engine off, on, or just in prestart. I ran my tests with the engine running. Next I will be scanning my girlfriends 2013 Chevy Trax with 68000km and see what’s stored in its ECU. It will take a while to get used to what works and what doesn’t, and how to get around the Diagnostics menu, mainly to clear unwanted DTCs, like that generated by having the hatch open when running a test. I’m having fun!

This is a rugged OBD2 scanner with a big touch screen that can run diagnostic of car health and reset for car maintenance. It is mainly for diagnostic and maintenance for car. It supports a big list of car models which include almost every car manufacture and models. The scanner can automatically read VIN number or manually type in the VIN to find the car model and other information to help with diagnostic and maintenance. There are so many functions with every car model. You have to explorer by yourself for the car you are working on.It can wirelessly connect to car OBD connector via a wireless VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) which is go though Bluetooth. The VCI get powered up as soon as plug into the car OBD port. There is a green light on the VCI to indicate it is powered on and in working state. There is also a button to turn on a LED inside the OBD connector like a flash light to help locate the OBD port which is normally don’t have enough light to see it.It can connect to internet to looking for new updates for the car database, as well as the firmware for the OBD wireless connector. It also supports remote control that can be connected via Team Viewer. You can launch Team viewer on computer connect to this OBD2 scanner to see the screen and control the scanner just like it is in your hand. When exit from diagnostic mode or Maintenance mode, it will play alert sound to remind you remove the VCI from the car before wrap up the task. The scanner can generate a diagnostic report in PDF and send out to email address. It has a very nice case to keep and protect everything in one place.Very easy to use and very powerful tool. Highly recommend.

🌟 Quality:The FOXWELL NT809BT feels solid and well-built. The tablet-style scanner comes in a durable hard case with foam cutouts for the device and wireless dongle, which helps keep everything organized. The touchscreen is clear, bright, and responsive, with a clean Android-based interface that’s easy to navigate. The included Bluetooth dongle has a handy light to help locate the OBD port and gives an alert sound to remind you to unplug it after use, which is a thoughtful touch.⚙️ Functionality:This tool is packed with features that make it a great option for both advanced DIYers and professionals. It offers bi-directional control, letting you activate components like fans, lights, and windows directly from the scanner, which is a big time-saver. It supports over 30 service reset functions and gives access to live data, ECU parameters, and advanced diagnostics. Wireless connectivity is a major plus—it gives you freedom to move around the vehicle without being tethered to a cable. However, it’s not perfect. Some functions, like live data, can be slow to load, and response times can lag, especially with fluctuating data like throttle input. It performs well overall, but the sluggishness in some areas can be frustrating. It also doesn’t always pick up all codes compared to some other tools, and it struggles to show pending codes.💰 Price:It’s not cheap, but it offers a lot of value for the price. The inclusion of bidirectional control, a wireless dongle, and 3 years of free updates makes it worth it for someone who wants more than just basic code reading. Still, for the current price point, the lag and missed codes knock it down a bit in value compared to some faster or more accurate scanners.🏆 Overall:Overall, it’s a solid choice for serious DIYers or even entry-level professionals. The wireless freedom, range of features, and clear interface make it enjoyable and practical to use. It could use a performance upgrade to fully match its price tag, but for now, it’s still a strong tool to have in the garage.
