Love the EGO hedge trimmer
I have a EGO trimmer and a EGO chainsaw which I love so I figured I would give the hedge trimmer a shot. Purchased it a couple weeks ago…tool only as I have 2 batteries already…and just used it for the first time. I was not disappointed. So much easier than using my electric hedge trimmer. Best of all, NO extension cord to mess with. The 24 inch blade made quick work of my trimming. The one inch gap was great, it cut branches my electric could not. I did not time actual run time…best guess, close to an hour…but no concerns about how long the battery lasted. Was still going strong when I finished. It is a little weighty with the battery but I knew that was going to be the case when I purchased it. Not having to mess with an extension cord, the power, the blade length, the one inch gap, the battery life more than compensate for the extra weight.

Great Trimmer
The long reach of this tool allows more trimming per sweep. The 1″ cut allows trimming of larger shrubbery. The battery allows at least 45 minutes of work, and maybe more. While the size of the trimmer allows a lot of work, it is a bit heavy when the battery is added. Not necessarilly a tool for the wife. Personnally, I am quite pleased with the trimmer and would recommend it for everyone,.

Good hedge trimmer, requires a battery that is only included if so stated. I have used EGO power equipment for a while and have always been happy with them and this was no different. A plain, straight forward hedge trimmer without frills except the safety catches you would expect.

Good Trimmer, Suspect Seller
First, the seller. They sold me a used unit. Obvious battery scratches. Debris in the oil and on the plastic. Like someone opened the box, tested it outdoors, maybe used it once, sent it back. The unit works fine, but Im paying for a new product and getting a used product. Im gonna complain to Amazon about this seller.So far, my experience with EGO products is good. The chainsaw I have is good. Well thought out. This trimmer has really good safety devices. And I like the 56v battery system. Id consider their Mower that uses this battery and maybe a power converter for power outages or picnics or beach parties to recharge electronics many times over. I haven’t used their products long so I don’t know their reliability. The battery does make it heavy but not horribly heavy for a medium sized person. I should think a metal loop and a shoulder harness could be devised and accessorized to aid in these types of hand held tools.Consumer Reports rated it highly which is why I gave it a shot. My thinking is: get a company battery and stick to those products. For small tools, I use DeWalt 20v. But for 56v region Ill stick with EGO until I have a reason not to.In hindsight, I should have bought this from Lowes or some other company than Amazon. For all I know, Amazon warehouses these and they are to blame. Still, paying new for a used item is a ahitty thing to do to a customer for online purchases so Ive been weening myself off Amazon to support Brick & Mortar businesses so they don’t go away.I could have easily returned this, but the time to re-box, drive, gas money, traffic, all for what, delays for a needed tool and lost time & money? So I sucked it up and kept it. But I did write about this bad practice.

Best hedge trimmer I’ve ever owned!
I bought this hedge trimmer because my old one that was corded wasn’t cutting cleanly anymore. I’d had it several years so it was time to upgrade. It was love at first use with this trimmer. For starters, I love the length of the blades. They are long enough to reach across the entire width of my boxwoods. I can start at one end of the shrubs, walk slowly to the other end and I have a nice, even border. It also cuts nicely from the bottom up to shave unruly leaves off for a manicured look.It was so easy to use that I used it next on a mature and overgrown burning bush. Burning bushes have some thick branches when they’re well established and it cut them, well, not quite like butter, but it handled them really well.I was having so much fun and it was so easy to use this battery operated hedger that I trimmed all the shrubs on my property. It was fast, effortless, clean cuts, easy to maneuver, the right size for the job . I couldn’t be happier.

I have used this hedge trimmer for about 3 years now and I have been very pleased with it’s performance. I use it about 5-6 times per year to trim a very large Mulberry hedge on my property and it performs flawlessly. Regular maintenance by applying a bit of light oil is all that is required to keep it running smoothly year after year. I highly recommend.
