Kept My Settings While I Removed Battery Terminals for Cleaning
Works great. I used this with a fresh 9V battery while I removed the battery terminals so my wife could clean them and spray protectant. It kept the vehicle memory/settings from resetting and everything was normal afterward. Simple to use, solid connection, and definitely worth it.

Simple, easy to use and works as designed!
Works exactly as described! Well worth having on hand.I used to use the cigarette lighter version of this on older vehicles that had the always live 12v plugs, and it would accomplish the same thing. Today those plugs are less reliable for this purpose, and so keeping the battery positive circuit for the OBDII port live during a battery change is the way to go. No spark at the cables, and no loss of memory in the modules. There is a condition though – your existing battery must be at least somewhat good still, because if it’s completely dead then this item will not work properly.

Worked Great. Better if wire was located middle instead of end.
Easy to use and kept the memory while I changed the battery. Make sure you look at your OBD connector before you buy because it it’s in a tight location, the item might not work as the cord is located on the end of the connector. It barely fit my car with some wrangling which would not have been a problem if the wire entered the connector on the back/middle.

    Easy to use
Easy to use and instructions simple to follow. Works as it should.

    Works!!
This worked great in 3 vehicles when swapping batteries. All memories and settings were preserved. It’s best to use lithium 9v batteries as it has significant pull when the car battery is disconnected. The other units that plug into the lighter socket are rendered useless on newer cars because the lighter socket is disconnected when the key is off.

    Worked perfectly
Used it on my 2007 Lexus rx350. Followed the simple instructions. Worked perfectly. Nothing had to be reset.

    Worth Every Penny!!
If I could add another star, I would! I was extremely surprised and impressed with this little thing! Before using it, I was skeptical whether this thing would really work. I have a 2017 Dodge Ram. Everything on it is electrical, lots of bells and whistles. Clocks, radio stations, seat adjust memory, dash memory etc. etc. I really didn’t want to lose programming on all of that stuff. It is a real pain to set it all back up. I followed the instructions, but not completely. Before removing my truck’s battery, I plugged the device in with a 9v battery as instructed. I didn’t, however, remove all bulbs that come on. The inside bulbs turn off with a delay, after you close the doors. There is a bulb, or LED under the hood, but I didn’t remove that either. I removed the truck battery and closed the hood to shut down the light. I went down and bought a new battery but was gone for over 2 hours. Instructions say, you chance losing power and programming after two hours. When I got home, I opened the hood and the bulb didn’t light at all. I was pretty concerned and so I wired up the new battery as quick as possible. The hood bulb lit brightly. I opened the door and the interior lights came on. I removed the 9v battery and the device and started my truck. It fired up right away. I checked the radio, seat, dash and everything. None of my settings were lost!! All of the truck’s memory was intact! I couldn’t believe it!! This little thing is absolutely great and I would highly recommended it to anyone!

Does what it claims. Many “gotchas.” Read The Instructions Carefully!
These recent cars, they’re more like airplanes than cars. There are procedures to be followed. This isn’t the 1950’s – 90’s anymore. This thing lets you do a far more professional job when swapping batteries on modern, super-freaky cars.Read. The. Instructions. Carefully! The positive battery cable on your car WILL BE LIVE when you connect this — and if you ground it, you lose what you were trying to save. That said — properly used, it’s PFM. Pure .. fine.. magic. I did my own battery in a 2013 Mini the other day. Using this as directed in the instructions let me swap batteries on the car without losing anything. The swap wasn’t quite smooth, so this little thing powered that computer for about 12 minutes. You need this. This car, if you disconnect without backup, goes a bit funny for a while, as it re-learns its fuel trims and such. The car before this one was like that too. Others, I hear, are far more touchy. So yeah this is a must-have if you change your own batteries. But, do read and pay attention to the manual! And don’t forget to register the new battery with the car, if you need to! (I did.)Not only does it save your clock, radio presets, and fuel trims, but in mine it kept my existing tripmeter, fuel / range estimates, MPG computations and such. I should’ve had one of these years ago, I didn’t know they were a thing ’til recently. The missing one star is you have no confirmation it’s working — no light or anything. You just plug it into the car, plug the battery end in, close and lock the car, and hope it works. (It did!)

Works great, like the portability of 9 volt and not lugging an extra car battery. Held car memory for 15-20 minutes while I changed battery.
