Mighty functions, little price
Honda live values and key programming. Impressive and accessibly priced. Some functions take a moment, but wait is well worth it special functions allow review of abs and srs codes. Can purge abs module and many other advanced functions so you can do very advanced repairs without depending on a shop. Between abs module repair savings and key programming it has already paid for itself

The US-distributor was quick to answer questions during initial setup (which occurs over WiFi, awesome that it doesn’t need a Microsoft computer like some advanced readers). I plugged it in and it immediately gave me the Honda information codes and told me the exact faulty sensor (OEM replacement part $39) causing gremlins in the electric brake-by-wire system that I had been chasing for weeks. I’m hard-pressed to believe I would leave the stealership for less than $205.This is an absolute must-have for anyone that does their own maintenance on their Honda/Acura.

Product freezes up
The scanner was virtually useless. It froze up literally every single time I tried to use it. I’m talking to the point of where I would walk away from it for anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes before it would be ready

vehicle-specific s/w download alert!
It doesn’t come with the s/w all on it. Once I got the Honda-specific s/w package downloaded, it was great – gave a lot of insight that my generic $40 OBDII code reader couldn’t provide. Intuitive interface and navigation – play with it for a half hour and it becomes second nature. You will NOT regret this purchase. Even if you only ever use it to double-check what the mechanic is telling you, it’s worth it. Excellent, five starts, etc…NOW, the main thing I wanted to share is about the initial download that I was confused about and ALMOST had me return it. I literally started the return process with Amazon and planned when I could drop it off with the QR code printed, because after the rigamarole of establishing an account with Foxwell and registering it with the device’s serial number, it LOOKED LIKE the only way to get the Honda-specific s/w was to pay an additional $80 (normally $100!). This was the point where I resolved to return it, I’m not paying 80 on top, to get the full capability that I expected when I bought the device. I attempted to “buy” the s/w anyway because I need to diagnose my Ody’s transmission, so it still would’ve been cheaper overall than the dealer! Thankfully, because I had not downloaded and installed the “FoxAssist” app on my laptop yet, it wouldn’t let me purchase the Honda s/w. After rereading the “instructions” and trying different things, I inserted the device’s SD card into my laptop’s card reader, and the “initial download” window popped up and I was able to select the “s/w packages for update”, among them the OBDII protocol s/w, FoxAssist app, and Honda-specific pkg, with selectable radio buttons. Ten minutes later I plugged the SD card back into the device and when I powered it up from the mini-USB connection, I saw the new Honda-specific package accessible from the first screen. Plugged it into the car, and within 15 minutes, I had reset the maint light, diagnosed the SRS light failure, and checked out the transmissions’ solenoids positions. Will still require troubleshooting to fix the car, but now I have a more precise diagnostic instrument than “enter symptoms online and hope the internet has relevant insights”.Bottom line: once you get past the initial download, the thing works great

This thing is rad – saved me a lot of money
Needed to clean my Acura MDX throttle body – was filthy at 144k and car was idling rough, especially with the A/C on.You need to reset the throttle position learned value to ZERO after – or you have 2 options:1. Deal with through many drive cycles – high idle rough idle etc – until the computer eventually relearns.2. Do a procedure where you start up, rev to 3k for 5 minutes, then idle for 30 minutes.Still doesn’t always work.Couple button presses with this thing and it resets the value to factory. It started right up and idled perfect with my cleaned throttle body.Seller was responsive as well when I had a registration problem with it getting updated software.

ABS brake bleed on 2003 Honda CR-V actually works
This is my third scan tool ordered the past couple weeks. Innova 5610 and Autel MK900-BT were first two. Sorry Amazon for all the returns. Neither would do ABS brake bleed on my 2003 Honda CR-V. This one did.

Poor documentation.
I thought this would give access to the VSA indicator on a 2008 Acura. The manual is poorly written by a non-english speaker and doesn’t include specific model information or menu examples. The website also does not include any links for user support that I can find. The tool may do what I need to do but I may never know.
