Great scan tool. Easy to use and comes with 3 years of free software updates and you get to keep the special features when its done?!! unlike others that you need a monthly or yearly plan in order to continue using it, yea, hated that and that’s why I decided to give this a try. I like that it looks like its a heavy duty tablet that uses a wireless dongle and this way you can scan your car from the outside and not have to worry about cords being in your way or being too short and having to reach down to see. Its a great value for your money and has alot of the special features that you need to check, test and reset many components of your car. You can reset your check engine lights as well as program new parts to your cars, (newer cars usually need programing when you replace a part or a sensor). This tool does the job at programing it to your car and it is easy to use. It also connects to the internet (if you connect to your Wi-Fi) for updates and when you find a code that you don’t know much about and you need more information on it. The topology feature is awesome because it shows you a map of the sensors that communicate with your car. There is even a feature where it communicates with your car radio to see if there is a problem with it, ( I was playing around with it just for fun.. lol). Great for the regular guy who wants to figure out what is wrong with your car, why that annoying light is on your dash that tells you to check your engine. Works on hybrid for when you need to reset the oil light, or you need to start your electric water pump when you need to bleed the air out of your hybrid car (if it has that feature, usually newer vehicles). . It has live data for those who want to see what your car is doing while its on. Every car is different and some seem to have more features than others. Still trying to figure out what each feature does but so far, I’m very happy with it.

Solid scanner with accurate data and great build quality
The scanner feels really well made. It’s got some good weight to it without being too heavy, and the size is just right. It comes with a nice hard case that should keep it protected when I’m moving it around.The software is pretty easy to figure out. I’m a trained diesel mechanic and now also run multiple IT companies, so I’m pretty comfortable with both the vehicle and technical side of these tools. The interface is well laid out and intuitive. What I really like is how fast it connects and reads the vehicle codes. I’ve used some cheaper scanners before that just crawl along, but this one is quick.One thing I noticed right away is they seem to be constantly updating the software. I’ve seen updates every few days which is a good sign they’re keeping up with newer vehicles and fixing any bugs.The data it pulls is not only complete but accurate, which is really important when you’re trying to diagnose issues. Definitely paying for itself already. I’ve already used it on a few different vehicles and it has saved myself on my vehicles and my friends/customers a lot of time and money.Now for a couple small things. There’s no SD card slot, which I knew going in so not really a complaint. The kickstand on the back doesn’t really grip the steering wheel that great, but it’s not a huge deal. Since it runs on Android I wish I could mess with some of the browser settings or add a few apps, but I get why they keep it locked down. Probably keeps people from messing things up or filling up the storage.Overall I’m really pleased with it. Does what it’s supposed to do and does it well. I’ll try to come back and update this after I’ve used it more, but so far it’s been worth every penny.

Able to Scan and Display Porsche and Volvo Topologies plus Reset Maintenance Reminders
For reference and background, I would like to share that I have hands-on experience with sub $500 scanners (iCarsoft, Foxwell, Launch), $1,000 scanners (Autologic), and over $2,000 scanners (Autel MaxiSys). To my knowledge the VDIAGTOOL VD80BT is currently the only 8″ on the market to include both wireless VCI (bluetooth), AND FULLY FUNCTIONAL Topology maps, PLUS 3 years of software updates and maintenance for under $800?!. Initial (Wifi) software registration and updates (a MUST for any software based diagnostic tool) was quick and as uneventful as I have seen (definitely *not* a given with all manufacturers!). Upon completion of that initial task, I was immediately able to fully test out with three Porsches (2018 Cayenne, 2018 Panamera, 2025 Macan – the first two being mine) and one previously VERY stubborn Volvo (2007 C70). Wireless VCI connects immediately (with a nice visible blue confirmation LED). Probably thanks to the large amount of on-board memory, Topology scanning is VERY fast AND accurate (at least with the four “difficult” cars I was able to test with) i.e. the extremely module heavy Panamera (26, 28 on-board modules – see the massive map pic!) and to my great surprise, even the 18 years old – but already computer on-boaded – Volvo C70 which had had a number of errors that I was previsouly un-able to review, leave alone reset! Due to the smaller screen, some topology maps do need to be scrolled left to right, but to me that is a small price to pay to be able to hang scanner on steering wheel and still be able to see dash lights, etc. (as opposed to blocking the entire view with 10+ inch screens). Maintenance interval and other pesky manufacturer reminders were successfully reset without endless searches through menues and sub-menus, and NO subsequent/new errors were created in the process either. Some at the menu verbiage could use some cleaning up (ex “Oil Machine Maintenance”), but ALL AND ALL, a VERY impressive scanner that I would not hesitate to put in the “prosumer” category for euro vehicles (sorry did not have any domestic or asian cars or SUVs to test with and my neighboor was not volunteering his 2025 Escalade.. LOL). Hope it helps & don’t get in over your head trying to reprogram modules that are best left alone!
