Terrific for Weekend Mechanics
This OBD2 reader is as advertised! It’s easy to use (once you get through squinting to read the small print of the owner’s manual) and works as advertised. Just plug it in and scroll to select what you want to see. It came already set up for English and inch/°F/psi data, and the screen is bright and easy to read. Most importantly, it easily read and explained the stored codes my vehicle had (thankfully all minor). It’s advertised as having more than 98,963 trouble codes stored so should be able to help diagnose just about everything. It’s affordable so a weekend mechanic can use it to $ave a trip to the dealer/shop for every little thing.

While not a replacement for professional diagnostic equipment, it’s a very good budget option for car owners who want a practical, affordable code reader.

Very Happy with Reader.This code reader is easy to connect and Work great, is able to get a code and is able to good my car knowing exactly what was going on so that you may make an informed decision about whether a trip to the mechanics warranted.In addition, 2.8 inches Screen is good size. Compatibility and lighting and support is good and connectivity is easy. Simple to use and works just as good as the very expensive units. Very good price.

Mine didn’t work
I had a check engine light on a Toyota Sequoia, I used this scanner to read the trouble code, it failed to connect with my ECU, I then went through a process of tightening the electrical connectors in the OBD2 port, but still no communication with the ECU. I went to a local auto parts store and they read the code on the first try without any issues. I have to assume that there is an issue with my scanner, so I will be returning it. I ordered a different brand on Amazon and just received it, it worked great, I spent a little more money though, not much more. In my case, “you get what you pay for “ holds true.
